Prayer for friend dying

Please pray for a very, very dear friend if mine who is dying of pancreatic cancer. She may not have much time. I have been in the hospital every day( all day) and must drive her 4 hours to her plane flight to her son in California to spend her final days in hospice with him. It has been a difficult road for her just being able to have enough strength to travel. Please pray all goes well getting her to her sons as it will be a long difficult trip for her. And pray for her son and all who care for her and strength for those of us helping her- thank you!

O God, we commit mlz’s friend to Your perfect care on the journey that awaits her. We pray for a safe and auspicious journey as she goes on her final trip to hospice and to reunite with her son. Bless her O Lord, that she may complete her journey safely and successfully under Your ever watchful care. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Prayer for the Grieving

Father of mercies and God of all consolation, You pursue us with untiring love and dispel the shadow of death with the bright dawn of light. Comfort her son, the rest of her family, and the friends of this dear woman as they face her loss. Be their refuge and their strength, O Lord, and lift them from the depths of grief into the peace and light of Your Presence.

Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, by dying has destroyed our death, and by rising, restored our life. Enable them therefore to press on toward Him, so that, after our earthly course is run, He may reunite us with those we love, when every tear will be wiped away. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

For a Miracle

Lord, look upon mlz’s with eyes of mercy. If it be Your will, may your healing hand rest upon her, may your life-giving powers flow into every cell of her body, especially her pancreas, and into the depths of her soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring her to wholeness and strength for service in your Kingdom. Amen.

Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.

Dear Heavenly Father, With heavy hearts we come to You. You are Almighty Creator God; holy and full of grace and love. Our hearts are heavy because of a life that is leaving us. Death engulfs us Lord. Fear is waiting to take us down. Thank You Father, that because of Jesus, You know our pain and sorrow intimately. Thank You that Jesus knows the way through this dark shadow. Take the hand of our dear sister/brother and make Yourself known. Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Keep that which is Your own and take it into eternity to be with You. In Jesus, death is but a shadow. Jesus has swallowed up its sorrows and pain. Thank You Jesus for the cross. Thank You Jesus for the resurrection. Lord, we are before You, confessing that You are Lord of all; the gate keeper to eternal life. Your grace and love abound even as our sin seems ever increasing. Take our hands Lord and lead us through. We lay our fears at your feet. Your promise is that You – and You alone – will come to take us home. As it says in Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”

Update: She is now in California with her son and made the trip thanks be to God all went well. We are so glad they are now together safely although we miss her deeply. She is such a dear and faithful Christian woman who has been such a strong prayer warrior for others. Now she is in need of prayer. Please continue to pray for her and her son and that the witness of her life helps her son and those around her.

Update for those who are praying:
My friend made it to her sons but her health is declining fast. She is now being given morphine and will be transferred from hospice to somewhere that can give her 24 hour help.She has 2 children that haven’t spoken with her for years ( she has tried so many times to reach out to them only to have such cruel and hurtful responses. Her prayers for them continued as they will to her dying day. Pray for them as well but also for her dear son who is now caring for her alone. Thank you.
