Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
MY friend Julie has been suffering for 2 years. She started with hip replacements which caused metalosis from prosthetic devices. Then,they re-oped R hip to change metal device. Then,she developed serious MRSA infection which drained 2 quarts of pus on 2 separate occasions. Her bones became brittle. 2 fx ribs from something as simple as coughing.Then,she got out of bed, fell and broke her L arm. She has undergone 4 or 5 surgeries on the L arm. All the screws loosened and the plate fell off requiring a surgery to remove all appliances. R shoulder pain started and showed deterioration of joint where the ball joint is gone.
Now,what is sinful is a chest xray showed a lesion in her R lung. Of the 5 doctors she sees, no one mentioned that. Another fall, 4 fractured vertbrae. 3 MRI’s later with all questioning a sternal lytic fracture or myoma ( tumor in a muscle) with metastasis to (guess where) the bone.so, for these 2 years she has had advancing bone cancer which explains brittle bones that break, spinal stenosis, and multiple spinal fractures, and horrible pain. She is on 3 narcotics and 3 glasses of wine at night before she can sleep. They can’t do injections because her infection stays there. They had to treat the Larm. They did try cemening her fractured vertebrae. She has 2 doctor’s appointments this week and she is bringing reports.
I try to think the specialist disagrees with the report but the clinical picture fits the reports.
Pray for God’s will, the doctors getting the right diagnosis. Radiation is palliative for pain control. Pray for pain relief and peace. Pray that she will not fear her new journey home. She is a believer. I believe her end will come with pain control. The doses need to be increased and one dose may be her last. The dose is for suffering, not death.
So much incompetence.

Update on Julie,
She is to go to UNC, NC. She requires multiple teams to take care of her. Neurological thinking she has a neurogenic disease as to why she isn’t healing and is breaking bones so easily. She is to get a biopsy of her sternum where they found a lytic fx or myoma. Oncology will have to figure out about the cancer and metastasis. Orthopedics will have a hayday with her fx L humerus. It had steel plates and screws which all fell out and had to be removed so her bone can erode through her muscle and skin. They gave her a small plastic splint to support the humorous. Ortho has to fix R shoulder=replacement. It’ll be 2 more weeks before I get another update.

Infinite, loving Father,
Hear our prayers for a resolution on Julie’s broken body. Let her feel your Holy Spirit comfort her. Jesus give her confidence in our kinship. You are our Brother and loves us and goes to the Father to ask Him for answers to our prayers. Hear our prayers and release your generous mercy.

Hi Brothers and Sister in Christ,
Julie is still alive. Praise God! She has appt at Chapel Hill University on Feb 3 and 4. A neurologist and neurosurgeon will send her on those 2days. Her fractured L arm is waving in the wind and could break the skin. She has a small oval plastic that doesn’t immobilize her elbow. Her R shoulder deteriorated to where she has no ball in her joint. She can walk after the two hip replacements. The R hip had the prosthesis changed 3 times and she had MRSA infections. She walks like a weak duck that will fall any minute. I am not a patient person and as a retired nurse, I’m pulling my hair out. I go on too much. Good news She is alive with some doctors who will work with her. With possible cancer you’d think they’d admit her and figure that out.

Salutations,
Well, Julie is still w us. No cancer in sternum, I guess. She can walk short
Distances. Her R shoulder eroded and there is no ball to fit in socket. She can use R hand and bring R arm to counter. Still has metal leaching from hip prosthesis on L hip. They’re watching levels and say she’d have to get replacement if they get to high.
Her L arm that she broke when on heavy meds and her wine. She’s cut back a lot on both. Thank God. But this is sooo gross. All metal screws and plates in L arm fx. fell out. SHE HAD OSTEOMYELITIS IN L HUMERUS WHERE BREAK IS.
So, they cut out diesel bone=2" approx. So she has her arm waving in the wind.
Now, she is tired of being sick and wearing various contraptions for support.
The doc said, “just wear brace” Now, she was a nurse. This brace is a plastic oval w velcro. It covers half her upper arm. The thing that infuriates me is SHE NEEDS TO WEAR A SLING OR A HALF CAST w the ace wrap deal.
Her forearm and elbow is hanging down w no support pulling on the artery, vein, lymph tract, ligament and nerve. She has to realize they can’t hold her forearm
W integrity. So, her L arterial pulse is weaker than her right. She can’t lift the arm it’s missing 2 inches of bone. Her upper arm is black filled w blood, I hope from The vein. The docs in Raleigh said this is her life. Her infections linger changing sites. Finally, a doc in town saw the black ( not necrotic). arm and wants to take care of surgical stuff. He’ll test w dye in her vessels to check for leaks. There is one. She would probably need a specialist to sew leak shut. Pray, whatever leak is healed. Then he’ll put a hemovac in her upper arm where the bone is missing.
I pray he puts her in an OCL SLING w elbow bent and forearm not dangling.
The other docs that gave up felt she will lose arm and she may, stubborn fool.
God help her and this good doc, who cares.
Worry not, the past is gone, the future is in God’s hands. Work on the things of the present which is sufficient enough for us.

Dear God,
You know all of the above and more. If you make sure the infections leave her body. If you could make sure the artery and veins are salvageable. We can manage the rest. But, surely you know she needs total healing. She is deserving because of your love for her. She has helped many people in her life.
She has been her worse enemy. Give her wisdom and help her not fall out of bed antmore. She doesn’t bounce good.
All the angels and saints in heaven and Souls in Purgatory pray for her. May 2017
Be the year of healing and mercy for her.

There is no time with God, so I continue praying for your friend Julie, for you who love her so much, her family, and for the Medical Doctors she sees now and in the future for it is nice to have already prayed for them (Our Lord knows who they are even if not born yet:wink:). Prayer of Apology and Thanksgiving because of human forgetfulness to say “thank You” to Our Lord. . . . 😉 🙂

O merciful Father,
Who have wonderfully fashioned man in Your own image,
and have made his body to be a temple of the Holy Spirit,
sanctify, we pray You, our doctors and nurses and all those whom you have called to
…study and practice the arts of healing the sick and the prevention of disease and pain.
Strengthen them in body and soul,
and bless their work,
that they may give comfort to those for whose salvation Your Son became Man,
lived on this earth, healed the sick,
and suffered and died on the Cross.
