Please, first of all, pray for a co-worker in our office in another location whose last day was Friday, but she became violently ill that afternoon. I pray that she has recovered. I also pray for a good transition for her as she starts her new job at a nearby school office.

Please pray for me - I am full of fear b/c, once again, I have failed to do some of my work and it’s a biggie. I don’t think I’ll be fired for it, but there’s a good chance I’ll be written up and I know my boss tires of this particular task. I am constantly overwhelmed and feel like a failure at work and what happens is that, instead of ramping up my efforts and trying hard to get the work done, I just shut down.

Please pray for me. I’m even afraid to ask for God’s strength to do what is right b/c I fear my punishment and the shame. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. His Word just keeps pouring into my heart and I am sick - praying the sorrowful mysteries this morning and remembering from the Morning Glory devotional: the first sorrowful mystery “Mary, pray for me that I may grow in true sorrow for sin.” May I have true contrition.

Prayer to St. Joseph For Workers

Joseph, by the work of your hands
and the sweat of your brow,
you supported Jesus and Mary,
and had the Son of God as your fellow worker.

Teach me to work as you did,
with patience and perseverance, for God and
for those whom God has given me to support.
Teach me to see in my fellow workers
the Christ who desires to be in them,
that I may always be charitable and forbearing
towards all.

Grant me to look upon work
with the eyes of faith,
so that I shall recognize in it
my share in God’s own creative activity
and in Christ’s work of our redemption,
and so take pride in it.

When it is pleasant and productive,
remind me to give thanks to God for it.
And when it is burdensome,
teach me to offer it to God,
in reparation for my sins
and the sins of the world.
Amen.

St. Joseph, pray for us!

Wild Thing, thank you for the prayer, I will print it out and tape it to my monitor, right next to St. Josemaria Escriva:

The fullness of life that God rightly expects from His children means that they have to have a careful concern for the quality of their everyday work, because it is this work, even in its most minor aspects, which they must sanctify.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Anthony for Employment

Blessed St. Anthony, who in life was ever mindful of the needs of the afflicted, consuming himself in the service of God and for the good of souls, who was the enemy of idleness and a tireless worker in the vineyard of the Lord, beseech God to grant JLCecilia’s former co-worker a rewarding new job. May this job procure for her and her family a decent livelihood, and be at the same time a means of personal sanctification and of real service to others. We ask this through Jesus Christ Our Lord, amen.

JLCecilia, I pray that you seek out a priest who can help with your guilt and shame.
Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

:signofcross:

JLCecilia, I will remember your intentions in my prayers today.

Also, I recommend reflecting on a verse in Sacred Scripture that I have often turned to when I feel depressed or overwhelmed: 1 Peter 5:7. “Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you.”

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen. :signofcross:

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen. :signofcross:

Hail Mary, Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee,
Bessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
