First, please pray for the repose of my Mom’s soul, Emma, who just passed away Sept. 6th.

Second, please pray for me. I’m scared. And I’m having some religious issue problems that even after discussing with a priest, I’m not able to come to terms/peace with.

After reading a post here (I think about a quote from a St. Maurice), I’m in a quandry/fear now that I won’t make it to Heaven. I’m scared. I’m scared for my Mom for whom I may have not done enough for spiritually at the end, despite having had her annointed.

Nothing frightens me more than the thought of losing my soul - or the thought of my Mom not being safe with God in Heaven.

For your mom…
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fire of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy. Amen

For you…
Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Prayer to be Faithful of Serving God

Father in Heaven,
ever-living source of all that is good,
keep me faithful in serving You.
Help me to drink of Christ’s Truth,
and fill my heart with His Love
so that I may serve You in faith
and love and reach eternal life.
In the Sacrament of the Eucharist
You give me the joy of sharing Your Life.
Keep me in Your presence.
Let me never be separated from You
and help me to do Your Will.

It sounds as though you did what was possible to provide for your Mom’s “happy death”. I pray that we all be so blessed to be annointed at the time of death.

May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, rest in peace.

**Father, thank you for loving us
so much that you sent your
Son to suffer and die for us.

Thank you for hearing and answering our
prayers when we are not worthy.

I pray for this person “Conservative”,
that they may be covered with your
special grace. May they be blessed
with peace and understanding.
Send your angel from heaven to guide,
protect, comfort, and defend them.

AMEN**

Prayer For Help Against Spiritual Enemies

Glorious Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly hosts, who stands always ready to give assistance to the people of God; who fought with the dragon, the old serpent, and cast him out of heaven, and now valiantly defends the Church of God that the gates of hell may never prevail against her, I earnestly entreat you to assist me also, in the painful and dangerous conflict which I sustain against the same formidable foe.
Be with me, O mighty Prince! that I may courageously fight and vanquish that proud spirit, whom you, by the Divine Power, gloriously overthrew, and whom our powerful King, Jesus Christ, has, in our nature, completely overcome; so having triumphed over the enemy of my salvation, I may with you and the holy angels, praise the clemency of God who, having refused mercy to the rebellious angels after their fall, has granted repentance and forgiveness to fallen man. Amen.

Praying for you and for the repose of the soul of your Mom.

I was brought to tears at reading your prayers. May God bless you all.

Mom was never one who liked anything around her neck. I later found that she carried a Brown Scapular in her purse. When she’d be in hospital, I’d put a booklet with holy pics and scapulars in it near her bed. After months of caring for Mom at home in a hospital bed, and several annointings during the past year - I was asleep when she died. The scapulars were not on her but on nearby shelf, which destroyed me. I knew she was going. I panicked days earlier and called a traditional priest - when he didn’t call back right away - I called another non-traditional priest who came and annointed her…while the traditional priest then called ! So many things have me upset - and now reading the post about St. Leonard of Port Maurice - has thrown me emotionally over the edge at a sad time in my life.

May God grace you with His choicest blessings.
Amen.

Please don’t think that God and Our Lady are so small as to require a scapular actually to be ON somebody’s body at the moment of death to be effective. This is not a superstitious talisman; it is a sign of faith. The faith is what carries us all to the throne of grace.

Maybe I missed something because I have no idea what St. Leonard of Port Maurice said.

You seem like an emotionally fragile person – at least for the moment. God is big. Trust Him. He loves you.

I’ll remember your mother in my chaplet of Divine Mercy today. I urge you to learn about it (if you’re not familiar with it already) - message me if you’d like. I have found great comfort in it and I’m sure you will too. God bless. :hug1:

You are distraught, and it sounds like this may be causing you to panic about things you would not normally worry about. Continue to pray for your mother, her soul is not dead, but alive in JESUS.!
Your brothers and sisters in CHrist will offer special prayers that will bring you God’s peace and consolation.

Thank you to all - I am so touched by your prayers and kindness.
Belle, I have heard about (and may even have) Chaplet of Mercy but don’t think I’ve ever said it. I recently heard it prayed on cable TV. I would like to learn more about it. (Message you? I’m still learning how to navigate this great board. Is "messaging separate from posting reply?)

I usually say the “Rosary of the Holy Wounds” (I may have the name incorrect but it’s quite short, beautiful, and I believe is intended to be said for the poor souls.)

Thanks again.

I know that Our Lady’s promise is (roughly worded) ‘whosever dies clothed in this will not suffer eternal fire.’
St. Leonard of Port Maurice was discussed / quoted here in another post under Spirituality.
And, yes, one of my biggest problems - I’ve always been emotional and sensitive but at this point in time, I am emotionally fragile. You defined me well !

I try to say the Chaplet at least once a day. If you have any further questions about it feel free to message me and I will try to answer as best I can. To message a person: 1) Put your mouse over their name (i.e. Stove) 2) Click the name 3) click “Send a private message to name”. 4) Type your message just like you would type a forum post.

I lost my mother almost 3 years ago. I had cared for her in my home for 20 years. It is so hard to loose a mother :console:I"m praying for you in your greif and for the repose of your dear mothers soul. :gopray2:

Something I did was offer my sadness for the repose of her soul and that was helpfull for me.

God loves you and your mother. The scapular is a beautiful devotion but is not essential to get into heaven, your mother might have had an other devotion in her heart that kept her close to Jesus.

May the peace of Jesus be with you.
