I’ll pray for you and your mother’s soul, too.
It sounds like you are lacking trust in God. Trust Him, God is good. She was anointed sacramentally. Trust in the Sacrament and take comfort in it. Pray for her, I will too.

Belle, I have heard about (and may even have) Chaplet of Mercy but don’t think I’ve ever said it. I recently heard it prayed on cable TV. I would like to learn more about it. (Message you? I’m still learning how to navigate this great board. Is "messaging separate from posting reply?)

I usually say the “Rosary of the Holy Wounds” (I may have the name incorrect but it’s quite short, beautiful, and I believe is intended to be said for the poor souls.)

Dear Conservative…the very fact that you are anxious for the salvation of your soul, is evidence that The Lord and Grace is at work in you - be in Peace! You could always return to the priest and tell him whatever is still an issue with you. You said your Mom carried a scapular in her purse…be in Peace on this issue too re the repose of her soul. None of us, not one of us, can be assured of salvation which is a gift of God’s Mercy, but our Faith tells us that we will be saved (Faith is to believe in what is not yet present) and our Hope is in what our Faith tells us. Strive to be in Peace “my Peace* I GIVE* to you” and when you find it, guard it.

CHAPLET TO GOD’S MERCY**

Using normal rosary beads,begin with:

The Lord’s Prayer : Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed
be Thy name…… Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee…….
the Apostles Creed :I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven …

On the five large beads :

Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood,Soul and
Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son,Our Lord Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

On the ten small beads :
V. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
R. Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

At the end of the Divine Mercy Chaplet say three times:

Holy God, Holy Mighty One Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy
Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Invocation: O Blood and Water that gushed forth from
the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us,
I trust in You (3 times)

Sign of the Cross :in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
