Prayer for Msgr. Art Please

I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the right forum, but I would like to ask for your prayers for our wonderful pastor who has taken ill suddenly while in Rome on sabbatical. His family has been flown today to be with him, this doesn’t sound good. He is a wonderful pastor, he truly loves our Lord and has worked tirelessly for years building a great parish that is true to the faith.

A couple of years ago our parish was broken into and the Tabernacle was taken. He received a call that it was found out on the highway. When he arrived it had been broken and the contents had been scattered along the road. He got down on his hands and knees and consumed every crumb he could find. He said he wouldn’t leave the Body of our Lord out there on the road.

His is a one of a kind, we are heartbroken over his illness. His name is **Msgr. Art Valenzano ** with St. John’s Parish in Westminster, MD.

My husband, children and I will surely be praying for him. My children are going to be heartbroken when I tell them. :crying: We love him so much. He is truly a beautiful soul.

PLEASE pray for this man of God. He is the MOST humble man I have ever had the priviledge to know.

I wanted to update you with what I know. Evidently Msgr. Art Valenzano is now receiving chemotherapy in Rome, in the same hospital that John Paul II was so frequently cared for in. They do not expect that he will be strong enough to return home for at least a month, that is if all goes well with his treatments. I do not know specifically what his diagnosis is, but it does sound serious. Truthfully, I can’t think of a better place to be if I were to become ill! I will be asking John Paul II for his prayers tonight!

I will keep you updated as I am able. Thank you for your continued prayers. He is truly loved by his congregation and this is a grievous time for all.

I received an email from the homeschool group. Apparently he’s been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Thank you, I also received that info this morning. But, although this is a serious condition, it is not automatically dire. My father’s best friend was diagnosed 10 years ago with Leukemia, he was in his mid 60’s at the time, and he is still with us, his condition has been in remission for 9 years, he’s very active, vibrant and just as mischief as ever!

Prayer is powerful!

Thank you for sharing that, it is extremely comforting. Although, I know that God’s will is best, the thought of losing Monsigner is just … no words.:nope:
