Hi all, I would just like to kindly ask that you keep my husband and I in your prayers. We had a big fight this weekend and he told me that he thinks I am just getting very angry all the time. He said that I snap at him constantly and he doesn’t even look forward to coming home because he’s afraid he’s just going to get yelled at about something. I guess I didn’t even realize I was being this way. I know we all have our own issues that may make us angry, but I just ask that we can pray for me to handle these issues better. My boss is a terribly disgruntled and obnoxiously mean man. He curses worse than a sailor and pitches a fit over the tiniest things. I do wonder if putting up with him 40 hours every week is starting to rub off on me. I know I come home in a bad mood a lot because of having to deal with him.
Please just pray for our situation and if you have any good advice for me, I am all ears :).

Thank you and God Bless!

Loving Father, Krista needs Your help and guidance to help her deal with her stress levels.
Please help her to find and work on practical ways of responding to the unloving atmosphere and stresses at work, and practical, as well as prayerful ways of dealing with her anger and stress stored up in her system. Help her to carefully live the commandment of loving others as self, so that she lives as You desire, and so that her marriage relationship does not erode.

Krista, I lived for years with an angry husband, and the outcome was that on one occasion that he left, my eldest son said, “Mummy, I don’t know which is worse. Dad being here or you crying.” Anger from the other person can end up killing the partner’s feelings, and if they stay, it is because they are doing their absolute best to try to live the command of love anyway, even if there is no joy left in them in the relationship.

Father, in Jesus name please heal the injuries within each of these Your beloved, and help them to grow anew within, and to flourish in relationship with each other.

Thank You, Father

Loving God, through Your Spirit, please let me respond to others with Your sensitivity and compassion. Help me to listen, so that I hear both what is spoken and what it conceals of others’ needs.

Help me to recognise others’ unique personality and value. I want to present to others the gift of themselves as You create and perceive them, so that they may come to see themselves in beautiful, humble trust, as cherished gifts of Your love.

I do not wish to curtail Your blessings to others through doubt, insensitivity or selfishness. Please grant others all the graces and support that You require of me for them. Despite my infidelities let me be Your love, blessing and response made sacramentally present to everyone in my life, whether I understand or not!

I cannot fathom Your vision of my life and theirs, but I honour Your love and wisdom in Your dealings with them. Please mercifully complete what You have begun, granting us grace to submit, trustingly, contritely and joyfully to Your loving creative will.

In all my prayers, contacts and dealings let Your Spirit speak and respond in me to You.

Thank You, God who loves us all.

Holy Spirit, I need wisdom, discernment and unconditional love. Will You share Yours with me?

Help me to persevere in these necessary virtues, even where there is wounding within me greater than anyone is aware. Help me to carry my daily responsibilities with faith and hope.

Help me to forgive those who have sinned terribly against me or my loved ones. I need healing for injuries and scars that prevent me from fully becoming the person I am created to be. Come into my mind and soul, and help me through the rest of my life.

I need You, Holy Spirit. Please access the gifts and beauty of my unique creation in God’s image. For others’ benefit and for Your glory, give me a deep appreciation and use of the goodness, loveliness joy and blessing of this creation that You mean me to be.

God of peace, grant Krista the patience and understanding to deal with her husband’s temperament that she may no longer live in constant struggle with her anger. Touch her husband’s heart that he may realize the ill effects of his behaviour. This we ask through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

A Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.

Thank you to everyone who has taken a moment to pray for us! I am feeling better about this today and have written down several Bible verses on anger to carry with me! I especially need these when I am at work!
I am just so thankful to have such a forgiving husband who, no matter how many times I slip up, is ready and willing to forgive my mistakes.

Thank you to each of you for calling to the Lord on my behalf!

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
