Prayer for my mom who passed yesterday

I know that Jesus has his plans., and I am doing my best to trust in him.

My mom passed yesterday. My cellphone had broken and it was in for repair when I received a call from a nurse at her place to come visit mom now, because she needed my help.
I never got the call until I received my repaired phone today. She passed an hour after the nurse phoned me.

Mom has had recurring dreams all last week of her husband (since passed) standing at her bedside, just standing, and not saying anything.

Mom was not baptized, although she was very repentant. Everytime my sister and I encouraged her to be baptized she said that she wasn’t ready, that she didn’t have enough faith. She said she desired to have the faith her daughters did, but there were things in her past that she was very sorrowful for.

I believe our God is a God of great mercy, and I also ask for particular prayers for the respose of her soul.

My dad was baptized near death.

Both of my parents were agnostic, but over the years were truly growing in faith.
My mom’s apartment was full of Catholic books, bibles and even a rosary. Only some of them were given to her by my sister and I. I believe that she was on her quest for faith and truth.

Thank you for your prayers. My sister and I are praying a novena for the recently deceased.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your Mother, Marlap and that you weren’t able to see her before she died. 😦
I will pray a Divine Mercy chaplet for her soul and other prayers for you and your sister. God bless.

(Marla, I’m sorry you did not get to see your mom before she died. Something similar happened to me and I also did not get to see my mom before she died. I was told by my cousin, who was a nurse and also had a similar experience with her father, that parents often seem to slip away during the short times when their children are not there even if the children have generally been present for long periods of time. I pass this along in case it comforts you too. God bless.)

God knows the heart and He knows that your mom was actively seeking Him.
May He grant you and your family Peace, Strength, and Comfort.

Give them strength in temptation and a true repentance when they fail. Help them to find true Christian friends to accompany them in following the Lamb of God and finding safe pastures in His Church and in her holy sacraments.

May you lead us to the wedding banquet of heaven to rejoice with you and all the holy virgin martyrs in Christ who lives and reigns forever and ever.
