Me and my wife raised my son up in a very religious home. From the time he was very young, he always had a deep interest in God and the Church. When he turned 20, he said that he was moving to Las Vegas. We didn’t like the idea, because of all the sin in that city. But he refused to listen to our opinions and he moved out. Now he’s 22, and he’s gone crazy. He told us recently that the only reasons he wanted to move to Vegas were for sex, drinks, and gambling. He goes to a strip club about 3 nights a week, gets drunk every night, and gambles all the time. He said that he never wants to get married or have kids because then he wouldn’t be able to live life. On Valentine’s Day, he said that he had sex with three different girls throughout the day. What’s funny, is the fact that he still goes to Church every week and still has a heavy interest in Catholicism. I asked him, “Do you think God is okay with how you’ve been behaving?” to which he replies, “The thing is, I’m Catholic. And I’ve never met a Catholic whose saved it for marriage, so who cares? If they’re getting into Heaven, why won’t I?” I tell him about how his mother and I waited, but he says, “That was a long time ago dad. Today, everybody’s having sex with anything they can get their hands on.” He also told me about how he has slept with 32 different women, none of which he even knew that well. Most of them, he didn’t even know their names. He swears he’ll never have a girlfriend, never get married, and never have kids. I’m really worried that he’ll end up with an STD, or that he’ll end up impregnating a girl that he doesn’t even like. I really don’t know what to do, the boy’s lost it! It also really hurt, because we tried to teach him the importance of saving sex for marriage, and he just threw away his virginity like a piece of trash. It meant nothing to him.
