I posted this in the family living forum, but realized that this is a better place for it. Thanks.

Please pray for me and my wife, we need it badly.

My unbaptized, still mostly anti-Catholic wife has agreed to see a priest, our pastor, for a second time on Thursday. The first time she went alone, the second time will be with me.

She has been quite pointed about the fact she has strong reservations about “fully joining” the Church, but she is considering getting baptized. Honestly, she still doesn’t really understand what that means. She is pregnant, and might have a difficult birth, and so might obtain dispensation to be baptized outside of normal catechism classes due to the risk to her life. If she chooses this path I will support this as I hope the actual graces of baptism will carry her deeper into union with Jesus, and in the worst case scenario give her a better hope for salvation.

Please bear in mind that it is impossible for me to educate her in the Faith. Her response is always to cut me off in an extremely angry manner, no matter how honestly and lovingly I try to explain that the Church is about love. My wife has issues with anger and there is a lot of hate in her heart; she is the kind of person that holds grudges nearly forever. Despite this, we have what is otherwise a good relationship and we have a beautiful 6 year old daughter, and another miracle on the way.

Because she is seeing a wonderful priest, I am hoping that maybe the Holy Spirit can reach her through him. Maybe changing the messenger will help.

Anyway, please pray that the Holy Spirit will guide her home. I KNOW that He can reach her. If St. Paul can be converted from killing Christians to one of the most powerful evangalizers, then my wife can be converted too.

I figure more prayers can only help.

Thank you.

Oh Blessed Holy Spirit please grant the grace to this lady for acceptance of baptism and conversion to the Church . For this I pray. :crossrc: Thank you Lord.

Peace & all good

The fact that she is considering baptism…that is a wonderful start. I will be praying for your wife, for her to be open to the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment…and for you to be at peace as you walk together through this towards her hopefully entering the Catholic faith. :gopray: Nothing is impossible when we rely on God, right? Right. 🙂 God bless you…and your wife.

Father please soften her heart…open her ears and let her hear please open her eyes and let her see…

I thank you for everything you have given to us…your children

Amen

Dear Lord draw this your child close to You. Heal the deep wounds of her heart and bring Your love into her heart. May she know you and serve you all her days. Bless her marraige and the birth of their next child. In Jesus’ precious name we pray, Amen.

Everyone, thanks so much for your prayers. I feel comforted and I’m sure they will benefit my wife. God bless.

I pray for your intentions as well.

Anger is a huge problem and obstacle. Moreover, it is bad for us in many ways. I once heard the following about anger. “Anger toward another is like swallowing poison and then hoping that the other person get’s sick or dies.”

I will pray for your wife. May God bless your family.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our Daily Bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Praying for your intention. May the Lord bless her and bring her to Him and draw you even closer to Him. May the Lord keep you always.
