Hi new Catholic! Welcome to the Church, may God bless you! I think others will give you great answers – I don’t have time to answer at the moment. Just wanted to welcome you and say hi!

The only time you have to pray out loud is when you are praying at a group service, such as Mass or Benediction, where the people in the pews are supposed to respond at certain times with prayers said out loud.

Any private prayer you do on your own can be said out loud, or mentally - your choice.

The Rosary is a private devotion and people have a lot of freedom to choose how they wish to meditate on the mysteries.
It is traditional to concentrate on one mystery for each decade of rosary. But you are free to meditate on more than one at the same time if you prefer.

P.S. Welcome to Catholicism, we are glad you are here!

Welcome. I am excited for you. Meditate on each scene for as long as you like. Walk with Mary as she guides you to Jesus thru some beautiful, loving, sad, triumphant times. Peace be with you

Good advice there.

I’ve tried praying aloud (especially when I was trying to learn the Latin prayers for the rosary) but have found it easier to mouth the words or whisper them. Almost like the speaking is distracting me, which I have enough problem with. IDK, probably my own idiosyncrasy. The important part is that you’re doing it in the first place.👍

Welcome!

You’ve gotten a lot of really great advice, I just want to add that YouTube has a lot of really great videos of the Rosary. You might find them helpful to you. My favorites are from Mother Angelica.
