Prayer for Purity

Hello,

My name is Christopher and I struggle with sins of impurity and I ask you who read this to please keep me in your prayers/Masses for the intention that I may put purity into action in my daily life. I’m addicted to these sins and it has been very hard for me to overcome them because it has been hard for me to take action. I know that God will give me the grace if I give him my trust but this requires action too and these sins just feel like they have taken over my body, and my life. My soul cries out but lust paralyses me!

I know all things happen for a reason and I know God has taken mercy on me by allowing me to continue each day even though I deserve death, and hell for the things I have done. I know that God can bring a greater good from this situation and I know that if I follow His Will I can improve my relationship with Our Lord. Please pray not that my sickness be lifted but that I fight and not loose strength. Pray that I in times of hardship I instead of turning to these sins for release that I give my burden and my pain to Christ and surrender my Will to His.

I have struggled with this myself and I’ve known a few Catholics that have as well. The Blessed Virgin Mother and the Rosary are the most powerful tools I’ve found to help beat any problems. I will remember you when I pray my daily rosary, especially the Sorrowful Mysteries. 🙂

Jesus, Lover of chastity,
Mary, Mother most pure,
and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin,
to you I come at this hour,
begging you to plead with God for Heliotropium.
He earnestly wishes to be pure in thought,
word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity.

Obtain for him, then,
a deep sense of modesty
which will be reflected in his external conduct.
Protect his eyes, the windows of his soul,
from anything that might dim the luster of a heart
that must mirror only Christlike purity.

And when the “Bread of Angels becomes the Bread of me”
in his heart at Holy Communion,
seal it forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures.

Heart of Jesus, Fount of all purity,
have mercy on us.
Amen.

Dear Christopher,

I have been there. I have felt the way you feel now, I know exactly what you are going through. It is the hardest thing to resist these sins, I know, I’ve failed many times. But, you have to get hooked on Christ. The feeling you get when He is truly inside of you is a million times greater than the feeling of these sins. I will pray for you, that you will know God and know that His grace is the greatest of all. And I ask you to pray for me, because I’m battling this as well.

Lord God,
Please let your child know that You love him no matter what, even in his flaws. Please, like the Great Father you are, pick him up in Your most loving arms and help him to remain pure and full of Your grace. Please let the love for You in his heart overflow to the rest of his body, so every part will be used for Your glory.

I ask this through the intercession of Our Beautiful, Pure Mother Mary, and her most Chaste and Holy Spouse, Joseph.

Amen!
 
Lord, hear the cry for help from Your child and answer. We join together in prayer for this request to resist. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers I know they will bring many blessings to me. Thank you jeanne71350 for your kind words and advice. I will keep you in my prayers as well. I see this addiction as my cross that I must carry until my death but I know if I do this for Christ he will give me the peace I need to continue as long as I give him my burden and trust in Him. It’s hard but I’m trying.

My priest told me to be humble. You have to acknowledge that what you are doing is wrong, and go before God in Confession. God likes a humble heart. He knows that you are not perfect, and that you are really trying.

Dear Christopher,
I am praying for you that you may receive strength. The Eucharist, Confession and the Rosary, will take you past this.
