We have been planning the 4th of July for months and now a few days before the 4th my eldest daughter finds out her sister is bringing her friend and her cousin is also bringing a friend and now she is considering not coming. Both of our 2 grandsons would love to come (we take them tubbing and biking) so they won’t be able to join us. She has shown this jealousy many, many times before so it’s not new. She is struggling with her own problems and so I know she’s stressed but this makes no sense and she won’t even talk to me tonight. I wish she would although the last time she talked to me she was very mean to me and doesn’t seem to know how hurtful her comments are. I love her so much and hate seeing her struggle but this isn’t the answer. PLEASE pray for things to get resolved with compassion and understanding and love for others! My heart aches…as a mother that feels in the middle.

Thank you,

Lovingly pranging for you and your girls, especially your daughter who who struggling.

(Below a little prayer I once wrote for my family)

Our children and family love

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name we ask of You for our family, unconditional love for each other. Let us be sensitive to each other’s needs, and ready to make allowances for each other’s weakness or disposition.

Help us to interact courteously and honestly, without fear of rejection. Let us encourage each other to develop our talents and potential. Help us lead each other to goodness and wholeness, through mutual encouragement and kindness.

Where it is beneficial, give us wisdom to correct each other lovingly and firmly, without harsh criticism that damages relationship and self-esteem. Give us wisdom not to be reactively unkind or restrictive, or opposed to change that may enrich anyone’s lives.

Help us to forgive others when they hurt us, and to repent our own offense to anyone. Forgive our failures in prayer, penance and witness towards others, and supply what is lacking with fullness of life in You.

Loving Father, please form our children into true Christians. Inspire them to desire and love You and to consecrate themselves as delightful channels of Your goodness. Develop and enhance their gifts, so that each grows in wholeness and holiness. Preserve them from sin, but make them aware of Your great mercy.

Should our children abandon Faith in You, please restore them quickly to divine truth. Through Your Spirit, enlighten those who doubt You, ignore You or are lukewarm. If their absence is protracted, please nevertheless fulfill Your will in them.

Through their journeying, allow them to bring new gifts into our midst. Please always watch over them and their families in all their needs and endeavors.

Thank You for Your love of them, which infinitely exceeds our own. Please always guide and protect them.

Jesus may we walk with You. Let Your promises be fulfilled in our lives for Your honor and for others’ blessing. Use us for Your purposes. Let Your Holy Spirit guide and empower us with gifts to serve You and people for You. Father, let us love each other with Your love.

Praying for your intentions.

Kids! I always wanted them… and then I got some! :doh2:

Patience, love, patience, patience, patience love… and more patience!

I feel for you on several levels but I know that God is working so keep on keeping on.

Praying for you and your entire family.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Try to lay all your worries upon our loving Lord, who understands each of us and can ease all pain. Ask His blessed Mother to help you.
I will pray for your whole family at this stressful time.
God bless you,

Prayers before the Blessed Sacrament today for you and your family for love, joy, and unity, my dear friend

My prayers for your intention. Which, from what I gather, include peace and unity in the family.

I hate to say it, but she probably does know how bad she is hurting you and that she is being mean…

Jealousy is one of those things my mother never tolerated in us kids, so by a very early age we learned that it was an immature behavior that accomplished nothing. This daughter needs to grow up and not at everyone’s expense including her kids.

Why not ask her if the kids can come while she does whatever she wishes. That way they have a chance to enjoy the 4th with grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and cousins. It is a sad reality, but we know of a girl that eventually lost ties with all of her family due to HER attitude and jealousy. It got so bad that no one could deal with her anymore.

I hope your daughter can grow out of this, but the only way she can is if everyone else does not give into her whims that are rooted in this jealousy issue.
