Lord Jesus Christ,

Your servant Nelson Mandela served your people in South Africa as a beacon of hope and a source of freedom for them. He guided South Africans from the chains of apartheid towards multi-racial democracy. He was a symbol of justice and freedom in this world. You have taken your servant home today, Lord.

Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
 
Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Guys…pray also for all the babies that were murdered through abortion because politicians like Nelson Mandela were strong proponents for abortion.

Who prays for the souls of these babies while you all pray for this one man?
 
If he did do what you say, wouldn’t he need even more prayers? :confused:

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the soul of Thy departed servant Nelson the full remission of all his sins, that through our pious supplications he may obtain that pardon which he has always desired, Thou Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
