I am having trouble believing in God at this time in my life. My friend recently attempted suicide. I have been having anxiety attacks recently and any prayers for her and for my faith would greatly be appreciated.

I will pray for you, too! Someone told me today that it’s called “faith” for a reason, because we just have to believe even when we can not see. When I first started on my way back to the RCC, I just prayed for the willingness to believe. My mind was so shut down from all these different viewpoints, including watching Bill Maher’s Religulous, getting involved in Paganism, Hinduism, and all kinds of stuff that I was deeply confused.
Also, just reading the news or dealing with everyday life makes me question what on earth God is doing. But that’s just another excuse for not having faith, at least for me. Chelsea, I am going to the shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, which the Vatican just approved, in a few weeks. I will light a candle for you there.
