Prayer for Venezuela, discernment

Please pray for my wife Isa and me, living in Venezuela. For clear discernment about whether to stay here or not. One of my students was kidnapped, the brother of another student was kidnapped, the teacher of another student was kidnapped. I know people whose family members have been killed, almost “normal” here. My wife [from Venezuela] has even told me I’d be a “trophy” for the kidnappers, as a “gringo.” And now with power outages 4-6 hours a day, long lines for food…Added to that my Spanish is mediocre so fellow shipping at the church is a real challenge- or even understanding homilies. We appreciate your prayers for discernment, and if it is God’s will we stay, then please keep us in prayers for patience, wisdom, and God’s protection. Gallup poll ranked this the most dangerous country in the world a couple years ago. Peace, and may God bless you for your prayers. Art

Mother of Tranquility

look upon Venezuela in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
    And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
