Hello. Experiencing a lot of opposition to spiritual progress on the practical side of things. Many distractions too and alternate bad paths seem to be lying ahead. Been hoping sometime now for a vocation to the Franciscans, so please could you pray that a positive step comes of my discernment, sooner rather than later?

Thank you!

🙂

Praying for you.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Dear Lord, clarify my brother’s mind. Give him peace. Give him patience. Lead him to the path that is best for him, for You & for all. Help him find his vocation in your name. Christ be with you. Amen.

The Franciscans have been wonderful confreres in my ministry. Have you considered, for example, exploring the commissariat for the Holy Land? The friars from this jurisdiction are from a number of countries but their specific work is staffing the shrines and holy places in the Holy Land.

There are many opportunities to serve abroad. I pray the Lord guides you to the place to which He calls you, in whatever vocation He is pleased to summon you.

**O, beautiful Flower of Carmel,
most fruitful vine,
Splendour of Heaven,
holy and singular,
Who brought forth the Son of God,
still ever remaining a Pure Virgin,
assist me in this necessity.
O, Star of the Sea,
help and protect me.
Show me that Thou art my Mother.

O, Mary, conceived without sin,
Pray for us who have recourse to Thee.

Mother and Ornament of Carmel,
pray for us.

Virgin, Flower of Carmel,
pray for us.

Patroness of all who wear the Scapular,
pray for us.

Hope of all who die wearing the Scapular,
pray for us.

St. Joseph, Friend of the Sacred Heart,
pray for us.

St. Joseph, Chaste Spouse of Mary,
pray for us.

St. Joseph, our Patron,
pray for us.

O, Sweet Heart of Mary,
be our Salvation.

Amen.**

Dear posters, thank you for each one of your prayers. 🙂 I read and prayed with all of them this morning and my heart was greatly moved by them. Have a peaceful and joyful Christmas and may the Holy Family touch each one of your hearts in a very special way this Christmas.

Hello. 🙂 Thank you for your prayer, I appreciate it, and for your suggestion. It might be that the Holy Land does become a destination one day. Hard to see ahead how things will map out over there. So much confusion. I certainly think the Church will have to really pull together as times progress and I think it is likely that the East will become more and more a place that becomes a centre for vocations as help will be needed there. Will keep praying and hoping for the answers to come. And hopefully the prayers offered in this thread will help keep me open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Have yourself a blessed and joyful Christmas.

**Prayer for a Vocation **

God of wisdom and of counsel, You see in my heart a sincere desire to please You alone and to conform myself entirely to Your holy Will in the choice of my state in life. Grant me, I humbly implore You, by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin, my Mother and my holy Patrons, the grace to know what state in life I should choose and to embrace it when known, in order that thus I may seek Your glory and increase it, work out my own salvation, and deserve the heavenly reward which You have promised to those who do Your holy Will. Amen.
