I’m not sure if this is proper or against the rules, but I was going through the “Ask an Apologist” forum and came across this topic:

And then the answer.if one is for sure in a state of mortal sin and knows he is, is it of any value to pray? or is he completely separated from God until he sacramentally confesses?
The answer makes it sound like prayers from someone with a mortal sin are worthless. Is this correct?But until we again have sanctifying grace, we can’t do any spiritual good for anybody.
