Well, I did some Italian in school, and French right up until first year university (which helps a bit as well, believe it or not). I don’t know how well it would pass muster with a native speaker though

Mind you, compare any of the Latin prayers with their translations into English and you’ll see it’s a bit like poetry and allows lots of room for liberties in translation.
