Prayer intention for my nightly spiritual battle

Hey everyone,

So, i seem to be struggling with this impurity where I go to sleep and then hours later wake up in the middle of the night doing impurities. Some of it is unwilling and some of it is. It sucks and i don’t know why it is happening. I’ve told my priest but looks like it’s becoming a bigger problem, so i’ll have to talk a bit more about it.

Prayers for protection from this while i sleep and to stop if i do wake up to it.

It’s hard these days to remain chaste in body and mind. The best thing is prayer. One is repeating the name of “Jesus” everytime you feel tempted. Look up the Doctrine of the Divine name. Another thing you can do is when you find that you are thinking about the things, list in your mind or out loud all the saints names that you know. These are what I have used. It’s hard, but you’ll eventually get to where that it’ll be easier to turn your mind from all the impure to Christ. He understands that we have these human feelings, but if we can reject them almost as soon as they appear not only are you avoiding temptation, you’re accepting Christ and preventing causing him agony.

I know how hard this is. When we are only half-awake it is much harder to control our behavior.

Are there biological/physiological causes for your sleeplessness? Do you have any health issues? Get exercise on a regular basis? Without exercise it is hard to get a really good night’s sleep consistently.

If there are sources of stress or anxiety in other areas of our life, these can sometimes manifest themselves in temptations against purity. Not sure why this is, but I have experienced it and I know many others have as well. Look over your whole life situation for any issues that need to be dealt with.

I am praying for you. Don’t forget to invoke your guardian angel’s help when you are tempted.
 
Mother Mary, I entrust Bballer32 to your care. Please help him/her to pray and to practice mortification. May he/she not neglect one or the other, as both are necessary in combatting persistent problems with impurity. Shower down many actual graces upon Bballer32 and help him/her to cooperate with every one of them. I pray that Bballer32 be delivered from this problem through your powerful mediation. Amen.

Well i am a teenager in plenty of sports so i get plenty of exercise but the thing might be that i don’t get enough sleep. Homework during school is overwhelming right now so i try to achieve between 7.5 and 8 hours of sleep. Maybe more on days im lucky 😃
