Prayer Intentions responses Question

In the Prayer Intentions, many people respond with the prayers in their posts. At first it perplexed me until I thought it couod be to encourage the askers by knowing people were praying for them, but it still leaves one question.

For those that post their prayers: Do you find typing it down helps with praying or is there another reason to typing them out? Like do you type them out to give other ideas on which prayers to make?

Yes, I post publicly to let the person requesting prayers know that someone is indeed praying for them, as a form of encouragement.

Most times I post a Hail Mary. Sometimes I post some verses from the day’s Liturgy of the Hours. Sometimes I post the St. Michael prayer. In a few cases, I’ve posted the Flame of Love version of the Hail Mary, in full or in part. In a very few cases, I’ll post a few words simply to let them know I’m praying.

As for your questions:

1. Do you find typing it down helps with praying or is there another reason to typing them out?

My Response: I post a Hail Mary, and then I go back and read the post to pray it. Even then, I might get distracted, so I might end up saying the Hail Mary twice.

My Response: Once in a long while I might suggest a prayer or be inspired to a different form of prayer and post as I feel called to … that said, I like the Hail Mary.

For me, it depends.

I also like the Hail Mary, so I pray it as I type it, if I decide to use it, or another familiar prayer.

Mostly though, I pray a personalized prayer that is specific for that particular person/family–whatever the request–as I type the response, and I also ask for God’s blessings on that person/family, too.

I prefer to just let them know I am praying, and unless it’s a close friend I tend to only say so once, I don’t feel the need to re-type a prayer everyday. I keep praying, but I feel like it’s understood that I’m still praying.

Sometimes I’ll do the same, too.

I may come back and answer and let the person know that I’m still praying for them.

Usually though, I include our forum members in my prayers. I pray for them. They’re remembered in my prayers.

I usually like to post a prayer. Sometimes if no one posts anything the OP might think no one is praying. And that’s a terrible feeling. If it is a repeat prayer on the same thread, I will “quote myself” and post the prayer and then say it.

Some days I will pray part of my rosary for intentions here. I type the Hail Marys.

Sometimes I see a thread that compels me to pray some more, so I revisit and pray again.

I think it’s nice that there is a variety of prayer styles, and how people let others know that they have been prayed for.

To me it does not matter if I write my prayers down or not, as I believe they are between me and God. Having said that, if I write them down, it is so that the person would able to read it and would be encouraged and blessed on hearing/reading the prayers.

I find that TYPING OUT my prayers
will organize my praying for the intention
to be prayed for. AND it tells the poster
of the thread that I am praying for him/her.
I also include a PERSONAL message
as the Spirit leads so that those in similar
circumstances may be edified, too!!
