Good day, I am having some problems in my relationship, I am a single mom of three who is trying to remake her life with a new partner. I have been dating this wonderful man for 2 years, and even though he has asked me to marry him, this time through the Catholic Church, I am a bit hesitant and scared because I have one failed marriage already. I have never been married through the Church and know that once that blessing has been granted no matter what happens in a marriage you must abide by God’s law, and I am very scared of taking such a big step in my life at this moment because my last marriage, though civily, lasted 10 years and because of the mental abuse my exhusband gave me on an every day life, I couldn’t stay married any longer. I am grateful for my new partner for he is the most understanding man, and my closest friend in the world, but our differences in ambitions, actions, makes me feel like I am in for another disappointment. I know I shouldn’t compare but it’s difficult not to when certain things he does reminds me of my exhusband on so many levels. I wish for my dear faithful friends here in this forum to please pray for my ability to really love my partner, have a little more patience, grant me to be able to be more understanding, and make my relationship work enough that I can finally be able to have God’s blessing in matrimony. I would be extremely grateful.
I also have another situation that I am very worried about and need a little extra help with. After my divorce and my children’s father not seeing my children in over 2 years, my daughter has taken it to the heart and has been in a deep depression. My baby is only 10 and has already threatened to commit suicide and run away. She is a child of strong character, which is great, she is outgoing, and beautiful. I love my child, but her feelings of wanting to hurt herself to gain more attention from myself is very difficult to deal with so much she is seeing a counselor on a weekly basis. I pray for her every day and wish to have a little extra help from the great people in this forum. It would be greatly appreciated.
God bless and hope you have a great day!
