If there was ONE Prayer of Deliverance that was so effective that it would free you of any demonic influence/communication/temptation etc… should priests say this prayer to free people?

What are the downsides? People would be less devout in their worship of God knowing that they are free from any demonic disturbance because of this one special aram prayer? etc.

Public policy decisions- how dies it affect the motivation of sinners.

For example also see the influence of issuing indulgences. If you know you won’t be punished for your sins won’t that tempt you to sin more etc?

That sounds more like a magic spell than a prayer.

Are you asking if priests should exorcise everybody? The Church doesn’t teach that most people are demonically possessed.

Do you think that the reason people worship God is because they think they’re demonically possessed? That’s a very strange thought.

Indulgences apply only to past sins.

You are only freed by the Grace of God, not prayer. Prayer is to just show your faithfulness. It is God’s will that permits Grace.

Yes of course it is God’s grace working through the prayer. I am asking that there are public policy concerns in letting all know about it.

For example if receiving a plenary indulgence were so easy would the Church want everyone to receive it - knowing that it might encourage people to sin more because they know they have no punishment in purgatory?

I am not speaking of possession that requires exorcism. I am talking about diabolical obsession and oppression.

I understand that we are all under the dominion of the devil as St. Paul writes of the principalities and powers.

We can all be tempted. And if we sin we can welcome diabolical forces deep into our life.
