Jesus, meek and humble of heart, hear me.

Help me to look for what is good in others and forget what is bad in them.

Help me to put others first and not worry if I’m not picked or am ignored.

Help me not to seek approval and not worry about being the center of attention.

Help me not to be afraid to be afraid of not being liked or worry about being hurt or not believed.

Help me to look beyond myself , even if it’s not my turn, and to help others.

Deliver me, Jesus, from all of these and make me as holy as I should be.

Amen

I thought I’d share this. I use it with my kids. It addresses many things that kids have to deal with.

Peace,
Jen

Thank you! This would be a good prayer to use at the beginning of the day in a Catholic school classroom!

I like this. The litany of humility is quite good but somehow this seems more humble. It’s simpler, shorter and somehow more in the spirit of humility. Thank you for sharing it.

Oh, yeah, I think it would be good for kids. I was thinking of what it would mean for me above. Clearly I need some humility. Heh.

I agree. I love the Litany of Humility and saw that my kids needed some humbling. The words in the Litany are too big for them to understand and there was too much explaining to do, which is why I wrote this one.

Peace,
Jen

Dear Jenlyn,

Thank you so much for sharing your prayer! It is really beautiful. I love the Litany of Humility, but the words will be a little too cumbersome for 5th & 6th graders. Yours really is perfect. Thank you again and God bless you!
