Prayer of the Faithful for abortion victims?

Have you ever heard a Prayer of the Faithful intention for victims of abortion? Considering the gravity of abortion, it seems intentions like this during mass would be a weekly occurrence.

   *]For public authorities and the salvation of the whole world;
   *]For those burdened by any kind of difficulty;
   *]For the local community.

   Prayers for abortion victims would seem to fit all these criteria.

On January 22nd, the USCCB declared a national day of penance in reparation for the scourge of abortion. If you are attending daily Mass that day (one of the options of the vestments is the color purple), you might ask the celebrant, beforehand, if he could include a prayer for abortion victims in the General Intercessions.

You might even ask him if, after having looked at the Priests for Life website, if you could write a special petition for abortion victims.

Priests for Life suggest using the following prayer as a novena for the nine days preceding the anniversary of Roe v. Wade (January 14–22). You might try to get it into your parish bulletin this weekend:

Prayer of Reparation
God and Father of Life, You have created every human person, and have opened the way for each to have eternal life.

We live in the shadow of death. Tens of millions of your children have been killed thanks to the Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion.

Father, have mercy on us. Heal our land and accept our offering of prayer and penance. In your love for us, turn back the scourge of abortion.

May each of us exult in hearts full of hope and hands full of mercy and work together to build a culture of life.
