Does your parish assign Prayer Partners for your Confirmation Candidates. Ours does, and I just got mine today, and I will have her until she Confirms in 3 years. Have a blessed evening.🙂

We do not, because we do not spend three years preparing them for Confirmation. That seems an awfully long time to me.

RCIA people are confirmed at Easter and Pentecost. Kids and any adult who is Catholic but somehow missed out on being confirmed are prepared within a couple months’ of the bishop’s visit for the purpose of Confirmation.

The Eastern Rite parish down the street doesn’t do prayer partners for Confirmation, either, because they confirm (chrismate) infants.

What age do you Confirm your youth? Our diocese now does it as 11th graders, so it’s not really a Confirmation class for 3 years, but that’s how long we pray for that particular teen.

We do not assign prayer partners, but sometime before the teens are confirmaed (maybe a month), we are invited to select a name to pray for. Our preparation is officially 2 years, but I know that a child who enters the program during the last year would be confirmed with their peers if they wanted to be.

The diocese has no set mandate, but it’s usually between the ages of 8 and 14 for Westerners. Eastern Rite babies fall under their particular patriarch.

I like, anyway, the fact that here the emphasis is on what the bishop and the Holy Spirit do, and less on what the confirmand does.

I’m glad they confirm 'em before the 3 years are up, Cajun. That’s a longggggggg time to pray for somebody.
