Hello All,
Thank you all for your prayers.
I am still recovering from the fall I had on the treadmill a few weeks ago. The open wound is healing and is forming a scab with dry skin forming. I try to not pick at the scab. Please pray for me to walk straight as I am having trouble bending my left knee when walking and doing other activities. My parents keep saying mean things to me such as “Don’t walk like a disabled person” (this is an insult to all people with disabilities, myself included), “you are doing this to punish us/what a fool,” If you keep doing this (if your knee doesn’t heal), you are on your own." They keep claiming I enjoy attention and pampering which I don’t. There is no enjoyment in any of this. They also compare me to daily problems they have with another person.
I made a decision not go to their church simply because my parents would look at me angerly for not walking right despite recovering from an injury/fall thinking I am embarrassed them with ridicule, shame and disgrace (on top of that, I have fallen behind on my job search applications and have to prepare for 2 job interviews that will occur on Monday, in addition to the assignment my temp job. So I have to get those done.) I would really like them to seriously stop with the comments and the statements.
I spoke to EWTN for prayer and solace. They were concerned about what these comments mentioned above and wished my parents would follow the example of how Jesus was mocked and jeered. EWTN also gave me advice about taking driving lessons with something. I was told that it is okay to take private driving lessons with a licensed, professional local driving school as the driving instructor are trained to be patient/nice/kind and to work with novice drivers of all levels. I mentioned some of the observations I see my parents do in their vehicles such as using the cell phone while driving, driving with one or both hands off the steering wheel, doing makeup while driving, and others. Also, EWTN told me if an individual do driving lessons with a family member, there is some friction/tension between the individual learning to drive and the family member teaching them how to drive.
Please continue to pray for me.
