Thank you for your prayers…my husband’s aunt died this afternoon.
Condolences for your loss winterbrook.

Eternal rest grant unto this Aunt O Lord
may perpetula light shine upon her
and may she rest in peace Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments, we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen.

Jesus, we trust in You!

Almighty Father,
grant that everyone dying today, especially relatives, friends and acquaintances, may be covered with your grace and mercy. Through your grace, may they pass their final test at this decisive moment of their life, and safely cross over to eternity as your friends:

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls,
and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

Mary, Our Mother, Refuge of sinners, plead for the dying.

St. Joseph, pray for us. Obtain for everyone dying today the grace of final perseverance.

St. Michael, the Archangel. Protect everyone dying today.

St. Faustina, intercede for the dying.

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, may you prepare everyone dying today to meet Our Lord as a Friend, just as you did when you lived on earth. Amen.

Hello everyone.

In some countries, it is tradition to continue offering prayers for the dead up to 40 days after a person has died. Following this practice, I am adding this intention to our prayer thread, so that our prayers can accompany everyone dying throughout the world, not only at the decisive moment of death, but also for the next 40 days thereafter.

Especially in mind is the aunt of waterbrook’s husband who died on Oct. 29th.

*'I commend you, (dear brothers and sisters), to almighty God
and entrust you to your Creator.
May you return to him
who formed you from the dust of the earth.

May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints
come to meet you as you go forth from this life.

May Christ, who was crucified for you,
bring you freedom and peace.
May Christ, who died for you,
admit you into his garden of paradise.
May Christ, the true Shepherd,
acknowledge you as one of his flock.
May he forgive all your sins
and set you among those he has chosen.

May you see your Redeemer face to face
and enjoy the vision of God for ever. Amen.’*
(Prayer of Commendation from the Daily Roman Missal.)

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen.

Go forth upon your journey from this world,
In the Name of God the Father who created you;
In the Name of Jesus Christ who died for you;
In the Name of the Holy Spirit who shines through you;
In friendship with God’s saints;
Aided by the holy angels.
May you rest this day in the peace and love of your eternal home.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Prayer for Mercy for the Dying

O Merciful Jesus, Lover of Souls, I beseech You, by the agony of Your Most Sacred Heart and by the sorrows of Your Immaculate Mother, wash clean in Your Blood the sinners of the whole world who are now in their final agony but especially those on their way to eternal damnation and who are to die this day.

Heart of Jesus who suffered death’s agony, I beg You have mercy on these poor souls.

Amen.
