Yes, some preventive measures should indeed be put in place. Not sure if raising the wall would work. They might have to put some reinforcement behind it to sustain the pressure. But they definitely should look in to the options. The money spent upfront will save them from having to spend huge costs repeatedly when something like this happens.Yes, they have a long way to go, but they’ve done a lot in a very short time. I pray that they are at least able to raise the level of the walls a few feet to keep the river out of the shrine and the town on the other side. These 2 floods, in October 2012 and now this one, have cost the town and area a lot of money, time and effort to repair.
God bless the firemen with their hoses to wash all the mud away!
