Prayer request for my brother

I have a brother who has a drinking problem. He has a family. A few years ago he was out drinking and was beat up and thrown out of a moving vehicle. He now has severe anxiety. In the last few weeks he has really been trying to get it together. On Saturday he entered a church and sat in God’s presence for a good while; which he hadn’t done in years. Sunday he went to mass and yesterday he went to confession. Today he called me to let me know he was searching for an AA meeting to begin attending. It has been a tough few weeks for him, I live 6 hours away and have discreetly asked family to pray for him and his family. At this time his wife doesn’t feel she wants anything to do with him. I am asking for your prayers for him and his family. He is a good man who would do anything for anyone. I know the Holy Spirit is working in his life. Please remember him in your prayer’s especially during the next few weeks. Thank you and God bless you for your generosity.

One of my brothers had this issue too.
He did finally go into rehab and he returned to the Church.
I know something of your brother’s difficulties, and for the distress and helplessness that your family will long have endured.
May God continue to bless your brother in his new determination.
May God heal him and his family, flooding all with His grace and love.

the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into martinezc5’s brother’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer to Ven. Matt Talbot

Venerable Matt Talbot, you sobered up through a simple daily program of complete reliance on God after pledging yourself to live without alcohol. You did this with the encouragement and guidance of two spiritual directors. You lived your Catholic faith after the example of Mary our mother and her beloved Son, Jesus our Savior. You began each day with Mass and Holy Communion. You prayed and fasted constantly. You gave what little you possessed or earned through your hard work to the poor.

We come to you, Dear Matt, on behalf of this man who has suffered so much from his alcoholism. We are asking you to intercede for a miracle of healing for this man from the disease that threatens his lifestyle and salvation. Please go to Jesus and Mary and plead with them for this great favor. We will be grateful to you for all our lives. Amen.
