Thank you all for your prayers. This will probably be my last update about this.
Patricia has been declared brain-dead. The EEG revealed there is no cognitive function taking place, so she isn’t aware of anything. Her body is being kept alive simply because the ventilator is still in her, but the doctors and her family decided it will be removed Friday, as they can’t continue to leave it in her, and she let it be known in the past that she didn’t want to have a trache put in her throat if anything happened to her. So after they remove the ventilator Friday, it’s only a matter of time until her body stops functioning on it’s own, because the doctors say her body probably wouldn’t make it on its own. So it looks like they aren’t expecting her to live past this weekend.
My mom is sad, of course, but she will be okay. She says “it just seems weird, that’s all”. I’m trying to talk to her, to let her know that it may simply be God’s time to bring Patricia home. Patricia hasn’t had an easy life, and has suffered with health issues for so long. I’m trying to help my mom understand that it may be an act of mercy on God’s part…that maybe He’s saying she has suffered long enough and that it’s time to have her home with Him where she will be loved and cared for by God and so many others.
Again, thank you for your prayers.
