Prayer request that my mother doesn’t get Sepsis (deadly blood infections) or get leg amputated

Hello CAF posters,

I am having a new health issue/worry with my elderly parents.
My mother has a large leg ulcer that is infected and looks gangrenous and the local doctors have been little help.

I would appreciate any prayers that the infection goes and does not turn into sepsis,which can be life threatening,and also that she does not lose her leg as if issues like this get too big sometimes they amputate patients leg.

I am trying to get my mum an urgent appointment to see a specialist but often the receptions are uncaring of situation.

PLEASE will you pray I can get an urgent appointment for this week and with a knowledgeable and caring specialist.

In addition,my mum has VERY high blood pressure and is at risk for stroke.
Can you please pray her blood pressure decreases too and also for my mum to have understanding that she is in danger situation and to not drink any alcohol.

I am really worried and request prayers also for Gods guidance in general regarding my mums health.

I am also worried that if I can get my mum an early appointment but it is further away that my dad will refuse to go because he has a wrong mindset that it needs to be a local doctor or hospital.
He doesn’t understand that there’s no limit you should travel when it comes to health and he doesn’t understand that private specialists are often better than public ones (whether modern treatment or bedside manner etc) and that you get what you pay for etc.

He makes bad decisions for himself and my mother regarding healthcare,seeing the same “useless” uncaring doctors over and over because they are “easy and close by”.

He is elderly too so understandably in his world things need to be convenient but that’s not how things work in “real world” and lead to poor decisions.

Then he will complain about the incompetencies of doctors and healthcare system in this country-which he is right-but he doesn’t understand that some of his decision making processes are also leading to these outcomes.
Some people travel interstate just to see a hairdresser so my dad needs to understand it may be necessary to travel to see a good doctor and that ones in “western suburbs” are often not so good or modern.

My mum doesn’t drive and is traditional so it would be my dad driving or at least agreeing to us daughters driving.

Can you PLEASE pray that my dad will see sense and be willing to them attending an appointment even if further away.

I’m concerned that my mum could get sepsis or have to have leg amputated if they delay due to trying to find an appointment with a “local specialist”.

I already rang around local to them and all the specialists are going on holidays (typical 😒) so they don’t have appointment till months away but by then it may be too late.
How do I get them to see sense?

I appreciate if anyone would please keep praying and also that my mother would understand it’s necessary to do what the doctor and we suggest to try to heal the huge leg ulcer.
For example her leg should remain elevated and she doesn’t keep it elevated,she should be drinking water to help with infection and she doesn’t.

She doesn’t understand that if she doesn’t do these measures now it is very possible she will need a leg amputated as it is infected/gangrene and lose a leg.

The healthcare system is very fragmented and a lot of stress put on elderly people to figure out for themselves if they need to go to emergency dept but my mum has very low “health literacy”.
Often to doctors they are just another money making number and even me mentioning word like amputated to her can in her eyes make me sound like “the bad guy”.
