Lately I’ve been having a lot of sexual urges and I even had a problem looking at porn online and masturbation. I hate to admit this but I even felt an attraction to the same sex and while I never acted on it still felt guilty about it. I try to get rid of those feelings by doing other things, like exercising, but I’m still having problems with it. I just really need some help. I was wondering if there could be anyway you could help pray with me so God could send my future husband my way and possibly these urges could be gone.
 
A Prayer for Those Suffering Pornography Addiction

Jesus, Lover of chastity,
Mary, Mother most pure,
and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin,
to you I ask at this hour,
begging you to plead with God for me.
I earnestly wish to be pure in thought,
word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity.

Obtain for me, then, a deep sense of modesty
which will be reflected in my external conduct.
Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul,
from anything that might dim the luster of a heart
that must mirror only Christlike purity.

Heart of Jesus, Fount of All Purity,
have mercy on us.

Send powerful angels to protect her from sinful thoughts always and to help her guard her eyes and heart from all impurity. Raise in her by grace a powerful zeal to live heroically and joyfully with purity, that heaven’s light may shine through her. Comfort her also with angels that her heart may not grow weary in the face of the terrible and frequent pitfalls of this fallen world. Lead her ever toward the eternal garden of joy through this enterprise and all her life. Have mercy, Lord and hear these intentions. In the name of Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, we pray. Amen.

A Prayer for Purity

In this world where inappropriate images and behavior are all around us, it can be more difficult than ever to remain pure. But for Your children, God, for those who choose You, there is no other choice but to live a life of purity.

Help us all to keep the commitments that we have made to You. Help us to stay pure for that one special person that will one day be our husband or wife. Give us the strength to remain pure and let us always remember that the reward for purity will be well worth it.

I pray that God would grant you self control so you do not let these things have power over you and control you. It’s not an issue of getting a husband. There are married people with sexual addictions and disorders. But of learning self control and feeding yourself good thoughts. Part of this is learning the purpose of sex.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

Saint Maria Goretti, strengthened by God’s grace, you did not hesitate, even at the age of twelve, to sacrifice life itself to defend your virginal purity. Look graciously on the unhappy human race that has strayed far from the path of eternal salvation. Teach us all, and especially our youth, the courage and promptness that will help us avoid anything that could offend Jesus. Obtain for me a great horror of sin, so that I may live a holy life on earth and win eternal glory in heaven.
