Please remember me in your prayers… 9 hours and 45 minutes from now, I’m “defending” (as we call it here) my Master’s thesis and then I’ll be signing up for the PhD course with one document missing - a formality… some application form that can’t be downloaded anymore because the deadline was on Friday, which shouldn’t prevent me, but it may. It would be horribly awful to miss a year because of a formality.

Praying (collectively) for intentions before mine. 🙂 And thank you. 🙂

Law. 🙂 And I got an A in everything they graded today. 🙂 I would like to thank everyone for their prayers. 🙂 I got much better than I deserved… and the overall grade on the diploma will be an A as well (my GPA from course grades was around B except the final year, but the overall calculations including the final exam and thesis got me a big boon). Prayers work wonders. 😉 And they accepted the PhD course application despite some formal problems - I got a positive decision (extending the deadline a bit) saying, “I acquiesce without enthusiasm.” 😃

I’m really glad it went well. So will you teach law when you are finished? Or are you going to practise law?
 
I have a silent hope that at some point I’ll be able to do both. 🙂 But I need to find some practical job with a decent pay first because the PhD course is very expensive to me. I haven’t prayed for this one yet because I’ve only been praying to make good long-term choices, such as if to be a judge or an advocate or some other kind of practitioner.

Praying for everyone still.
 
I am praying for everyone`s intentions.

I thought I would share the following prayer from the book Arise From Darkness by Benedict J. Groeschel.

Christ said to His loved ones: “I am with you, fear not, be not anxious.” May I be confident that, in the trials and crosses of my life, You, O Lord, will be my constant companion. Whenever I cannot stand, You will carry me lovingly in Your arms.

May I have no fear of what may happen tomorrow. For the same eternal Father who cares for me today will take care of me tomorrow and every day of my life. You, O Lord, will either shield me from suffering or give me strength to bear it patiently. May I be at peace, then, and put aside all useless thoughts, anxieties, and worries. Amen.

Hi Maria1212,

I have read that book by Fr. Groeschel and it is awesome! I highly recommend it. I think he makes so much sense when he talks on EWTN and in his books. I think I’ll re-read the book to boost myself esteem some. Thanks for the reminder!!

Dear Mom4Truth,

I am glad you like the book. I love it too! I love Fr. Groeschel and have read a lot of his books over the past year. I wish I would watch EWTN here in Tokyo! I am posting another prayer from Arise from Darkness in case fellow posters will benefit from it.

For the Depressed Patient
Praise to You, O Christ, and honor and glory! As Your Passion drew nearer, You began to know weariness and depression. Thus You took upon Yourself the weakness of our human nature that You might strengthen and console those who are fearful of serious illness. I beg You to free me from all discouragement and anxiety. Grant that all I endure may be to Your glory and for the pardon of my sins. Deliver me from faintheartedness and all unreasonable fears, and fix my heart firmly and unwavering on You. Amen.

I think this prayer is especially helpful for those of us who struggle with chronic and/or serious medical issues. In my case, very real fears lead to useless anxiety. Being anxious still does not change the outcome, and sometimes makes it worse!

I am praying for everyone`s intentions tonight.

This has been a rough few months.

A job I was scheduled to start today did not pan out.

I believe I am going to have to move in with a friend, and leave my house.

That is ok with me, if I have to do it, I have to do it. Better times are ahead. I just want to get back to work.

Please pray for me.

Saint Joseph, patron of workers, pray for those who are looking for work.
