Prayer Rule of St. Pachomius: Jesus Prayer

Hey all,
What are this famous rule’s different forms? When/why is it used? How long does it take and how often? Anymore information?

It’s nice to see you here again.

To my knowledge there aren’t really different forms of the Rule of St. Pachomius. The only one that I’m aware of is the one posted on my blog. Obviously there are different translations of the same thing, but not really variations on it. I do know of a similar prayer rule that seems to be an adaptations of the Rule of St. Pachomius, but it’s not really considered another version of the Rule itself. It consists of the usual opening prayers, the recitation of Psalm 50 (or 140 if you’re reciting the rule in the evening), 150 Jesus Prayers, and the usual closing prayers. So it’s similar to the Pachomius Rule, but not the same, and it’s not considered another version of the Rule.
 
Hi Phillip, and FKC too… I was about to refer to the Jesus Prayer Group but I couldn’t find it. Was the discussion group disbanded or moved? My bookmark didn’t work and the search function could not find it. There seemed to be enough activity, although I haven’t been on in a while.
BTW, Phillip, I like your blog, and have it bookmarked for future reference. 👍
