This quote from St. John Vianney was in my daily meditations today:

“I can’t stop praying for poor sinners who are on the road to hell. If they come to die in that state, they will be lost for all eternity. What a pity! We have to pray for sinners! Praying for sinners is the most beautiful and useful of prayers because the just are on the way to heaven, the souls of purgatory are sure to enter there, but the poor sinners will be lost forever. All devotions are good but there is no better one than such prayer for sinners.”*

I thought he had a good point, so I am starting this thread so we can all say a little prayer for sinners everywhere, including murderers and other violent criminals, blasphemers, those who have rejected God, anyone else committing grave sin.

from Catholic Online Prayers

Lord Jesus Christ, most merciful Savior of the world, we humbly beseech You, by Your most Sacred Heart, that all the sheep who stray out of Your fold may one day be converted to You, the Shepherd and Bishop of their souls, who lives and reigns with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, world without end.
In Jesus’ Name I humbly pray. Amen.
 
Heavenly father,

We pray for all sinners that they may see the error of their ways and repent to Christ. We pray for their souls that they may be saved in the day maybe let on the path of righteousness.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

I’m praying for them (including myself). May God be merciful to them.

Said a rosary last night for all sinners. The living sinners get the Rosary while the Souls in Purgatory get the indulgence from the Rosary so everybody in need gets some benefit.

Dear Jesus, King of Mercy, I trust in you. Please have mercy on all sinners, including me, a sinner, whether the sins are big or small. Help people to free themselves from sin and find their way to Your light. In Jesus’ Name I humbly pray. Amen.
