I have read that some find relief with magnesium, taurine and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), and also acupuncture. Valium, too, is good for some, but addicting.

Mine got really bad at Liturgy (of all places) last night. 2017 has not started out well for me.

I’ve tried supplements. My ENT gave me a list of things to try, including magnesium and CoQ10. The latter gave me massive headaches.
My sister has suggested I see a DMD. Although my ENT thinks (and all they can really do is guess because my MRI and CT scans were fine) is that it was caused by a virus, maybe it could be TMJ related. I have always been a teeth grinder (I’ve actually cracked molars) and my bite is uneven. My T came on after I was really stressed out (near panic) over a trip for work. And last night I noticed that my face felt really stiff. Maybe something is out of whack. It’s worth a try.
I have to do more to offer up my suffering.
I will also pray for everyone who suffers with this affliction.

I would bet my bottom dollar that your tinnitus is a jaw issue. Mine started in the right ear and six weeks later I noticed it in the left ear. I have masseter and temporalis soreness, sometimes jaw clicking, neck pain, ear fullness and fluttering sensations in the ears. All of that can come from overactive muscles near the ear. I have found that massage quiets the noise. I have read really good things about acupuncture actually curing tinnitus. When I get a little more financially stable I think I’ll try acupuncture.
I want to add that you should not take my comment of a devil in your ear too seriously!
I saw your other threads. Quit worrying! Worry is what most likely caused your problems. You were anxious in church and the adrenaline produced by anxiety will most definitely cause your ears to ring.

The more I think about it being a jaw issue, the more I think it may be. I did have pretty bad TMJ when I was college. Had some jaw and bite alignment work done , and it was better. Maybe things have changed again as I’ve gotten older. My jaw clicks like crazy when I open and close my mouth.
I was also thinking about acupuncture. I’m willing to give it a try, too.
I just did a Rosary with a FaceBook group I belong to, and included everyone in my intentions!

I don’t know if it’s related, but I have been taking taurine for a few days and my tinnitus has been fairly quiet. It puts me to sleep, too, which is a plus as far as I’m concerned. But I’m still praying for everyone…
