On the sorrowful anniversary of Roe v Wade most of us will not be able to participate in either of the two national marches in DC and SF. We all, however, have access to the most powerful weapon available in the struggle to overcome abortion - prayer, IMHO a very under utilized resource.

Most parishes will be holding some type of Right To Life Mass and, hopefully, a period for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The greater the participation nationwide, the louder will be our cry to God for justice for our unborn brothers and sisters in Christ.

This prayer was composed by my wife and myself and is posted on our website.

*Radiant Cross Prayer To Overcome Abortion

Most Holy Trinity, hear my prayer for Your Divine Assistance
In our struggle to overcome the scourge of abortion plaguing our nation

I pray to You Eternal Father
For the repentance and conversion of all people involved in the abortion industry
Including our public officials who enable and support abortion in our country

I pray to Our Lord Jesus Christ to grant His compassionate forgiveness and merciful healing
To all who repent of, and grieve for, their participation in abortion

I pray that the Holy Spirit may touch the souls of all women contemplating abortion
May their hearts become filled with a mother’s natural love for her child
And may they become aware of all the evils and horrible realities which abortion entails

I pray that the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus
May open the hearts and minds of all people who have been misled on the truth abortion

May we all come together, Almighty Father, in defense of Your helpless unborn children
Our brothers and sisters in Christ
Amen *

I think I may have posted this in the wrong forum which seems to be specifically for members requesting prayers for themselves or others who may have need of prayers being offered on their behalf.

While I hope everyone will offer prayers for the intention of bringing down Roe v Wade, I apologize if the post was misplaced.

I’ve re-posted to a social group forum on abortion if the moderator wants to take this one down

It’s a lovely prayer! Our churches are not having any special service, nor is there ever any adoration available (churches are only unlocked right before Mass and locked immediately after). But I will be following along on TV and praying at home.

Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 8
The greatness of God, the dignity of man

How great is your name, Lord, through all the earth.
How wonderful is your name over all the earth,
O Lord, our Lord!
How exalted is your glory
above the sky!

Out of the mouths of children and infants you have brought praise,
to confound your enemies, to destroy your vengeful foes.

When I see the heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and stars, which you set in their place –
what is man, that you should take thought for him?
what is the son of man, that you should look after him?

You have made him but one step lower than the angels;
you have crowned him with glory and honour;
you have set him over the works of your hands.

You have put everything beneath his feet,
cattle and sheep and the beasts of the field,
the birds in the air and the fish in the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the waters.

How wonderful is your name above all the earth,
O Lord, our Lord!

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

How great is your name, Lord, through all the earth.

Though I sincerely hope that abortions will stop everywhere soon, I fear that just like all other forms of murder they will continue to take place for some time. May we all pray for the unborn as well as the parents and doctors who misguidedly choose to commit such a tragic sin.

Perhaps we could all try to pray the rosary today for the unborn and also to console the Blessed Virgin Mary whose Immaculate Heart must suffer so much from the deaths of these little ones.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for your intentions….

Lord Jesus, You have said,
“Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.”
With confidence in Your loving heart
which offers rest to weary souls,
we come to You in this time of special need.
In Your unfailing love,
read the prayer that is written on our hearts,
and grant the grace that we ask of You,
in accordance with Your holy will.
In Your name we pray.
Amen.

Hail Mary Full of Grace
The Lord is with You
Blessed art You among Women
And Blessed is the fruit of Thy Womb Jesus
Holy Mary
Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Our Lady of Sorrows,
Mother of Our Lord Jesus,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Our Lady of Sorrows,
Mother of Our Lord Jesus,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Our Lady of Sorrows,
Mother of Our Lord Jesus,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Our Lady of Sorrows,
Mother of Our Lord Jesus,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Our Lady of Sorrows,
Mother of Our Lord Jesus,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Our Lady of Sorrows,
Mother of Our Lord Jesus,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen!
