Prayer to Saint Isidore, before going onto the internet

Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thy image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thy only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, bishop and doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen:amen:

I forget–why is St. Isadore of Seville the patron of the internet? Something to do with his compiling a bunch of data or something, right? :hmmm:
 
I think a lot of us, even on a lovely site like CAF, need to pray it regularly so that we can keep up the charity levels 😉

The Observation Service for Internet, who drew it’s mission from the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, researched the Internet and related technologies to select a patron saint that best reflects the concerns and ideals of computer designers, programmers and users. The saint chosen by the Observation Service for Internet was Saint Isidore. "The saint who wrote the well-known ‘Etymologies’ (a type of dictionary), gave his work a structure akin to that of the database. He began a system of thought known today as ‘flashes;’ it is very modern, notwithstanding the fact it was discovered in the sixth century. Saint Isidore accomplished his work with great coherence: it is complete and its features are complementary in themselves.

LilyM: I agree, I have been thinking, if more of us had been praying(myself included) for CAF, the hackers wouldn’t have been able to crash us. By the way, your one of my favorite posters!!!👍

Yes, this is a great prayer!!

Also, go to bed and rest your head. when we are tired!..our thinking skills are weak!!

I’m curious. Is there a particular connection of St. Isidore to the internet? Like… is he the Patron?
