Prayer to saint joesph

Hi,
Does anyone know anything or have any experience with the Prayer to Saint Joseph the one that at the end has this:

This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In 1500’s it was sent by the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. Whoever reads this prayer or hears it or carries it, will never die a sudden death, nor be drowned, nor will poison take effect on them. They will not fall into the hands of the enemy nor be burned in any fire, nor will they be defeated in battle.

Say for nine consecutive mornings for anything you may desire. It has seldom been known to fail.

I did this prayer when I was 14 years old and prayed for somthing that was significant to my future…I asked for somthing to happen in a specific age range. I am now 20…not yet in that age range. Some things in my life make me question why they are the way theyare.
Do any of you think the prayer has affected what has happened or what is happening in my life right now? I know we all have choices but I guess this prayer is a pretty powerful one and I made the choice to make it. Sometimes I fight what is happening in my life, but it does no good.
In the back of my mind I am convinced the prayer I made six years ago has a major role. Do any of you have any experiecne with this or wisdom? I would like to know some of your opinions. Thank you.

You’re referring to the prayer that begins ‘O St Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt …’ It’s a lovely prayer. I say it every so often, though not always as a novena.

Prayers certainly can be powerful things but they’re not magic. If what you’re praying for is contrary to God’s will then it won’t happen. Remember Christ himself prayed for his suffering to be taken away if possible. That prayer certainly wasn’t granted.

I wouldn’t attach too much importance to a prayer you said at the age of 14. God understands that we have all sorts of notions as teenagers - some good, some bad, some indifferent. Just do the best you can with where and what you are right now and keep praying to him and St Joseph for guidance.

I always loved that prayer.

There is a short prayer the members of the Archconfraternity of St. Joseph say daily for each other’s spiritual welfare.

It is: “St. Joseph, model and patron of those who love the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us.”

Another short prayer is:

Help us, Joseph, in our earthly strife,
Ever to lead a pure and blameless life.
