Well I’m not baptized yet, so I can’t receive communion. As of right now I just move over so others can get in and out of the pew, but what’s a prayer I could say when I kneel again, like the one they say on EWTN on the mass they show.

Thnx

What you are looking for is called an “Act of Spiritual Communion.” Here is one:

My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

The prayer the children of Fatima prayed: “Oh most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore you, My God, My God I love You in the Most Blessed Sacrament”. This reminds us that where one of the Blessed Trinity is, the others are also.

You could also go up to (not receive Communion) but to receive a blessing from the priest. As long as he knows the circumstances. Then you won’t feel so left out. Welcome to our wonderful faith. May God give you many blessings.

Here we go again. (see the many threads on receiving a blessing during communion, rather than communion. Be careful not all parishes do this.

We are blessed at the end of Mass. Communion is not for a blessing.

Yeah lol I asked my priest about it a week or two ago and he said “Recieving blessings are fine, but there is no ritual for giving a blessing during communion, and I prefer to stick to the ritual”

Oh well, but thanks to the people who posted the prayers, I’ll try to remember them to say one of them at mass 😛

Sorry I didn’t mean to derail your thread.

Also you may be able to find the ‘Act of Spiritual Communion’ in the missalettes (inside cover?); if you have them. Otherwise you can perhaps write it down and take it with you, till you have it memorized.

Many Blessings to you.

First of all, what does “derail” mean?😛

Second of all I don’t think they bhave one in the missalettes so I’ll probly just memorize it nd everything

derail means taking the thread off topic. And as far as your second point; memorizing is great! :o
