I have composed (in the vernacular) a prayer to the Holy Spirit for use before I read Scripture at Mass, as a lay reader (Ordinary Form). I have endeavored to translate it into Latin, and I would like comments, critiques, and corrections, if anyone is willing to help.

Te precor, Spiritus Sancte:
in corde meo es et labiis meis,
ut competenter digneque Verbum
quod intra prophetis apostolisque inspiravit annuntiem,
ad glorificationem Dei et sanctificationem populi sui.
Amen.

Comments on word order, use of “-que”, and word choice are greatly appreciated.

It might be well to include the vernacular (I assume it’s English) text as well.

You make it too easy! 😉

O Holy Spirit, I beg you:
be in my heart and upon my lips,
that I might worthily and fittingly proclaim
the Word which you placed within prophets and apostles,
unto the glorification of God and the sanctification of His people.
Amen.
