When you pray to God, who do you pray to most often? The Father, Son, or Holy Spirit?

I don’t think about the difference, so I put “equally to all three.”
I don’t recall ever specifying to whom I was praying.

I pray to all of them–He is one God in Three Divine Persons, so in the end He is still the one God.

Me too - I usually don’t specify. I figure God can figure it out. 😃

I pray to all three even though they are One.
My main thought about each one is:
  • the Father - the creator - I am to follow His Will
  • the Son - I must follow His Teachings
  • the Holy Spirit - to guide me to follow what the Son Taught in order to fulfill the Father’s will.

I do pray specifically to the different Persons for different needs, sometimes. But the poll is sad–nobody prays to the Holy Spirit! I often think He is the ‘forgotten’ Person. Maybe I need to pray more to Him as Holy Spirit…

I mostly pray to Jesus but I know when I pray to Him I am also praying to the Holy Spirit and God the Father.

i pray to both God mainly. i do pray to Jesus alot. but i pray to the Heavenly Father first and foremost. i always ask for things in Jesus’s name. always.

I find it’s easiest for me to relate to Jesus as a person, so that’s where my prayer is usually directed. That’s not to say that I don’t recognize that in fact I’m praying to the Trinitarian God, just that I’m most comfortable speaking to the Son. Afterall, “we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.” Hebrews 4:15:extrahappy:

This is one thing I wanted to check. I have rarely heard anyone say that they specifically pray to the Holy Spirit.

Is there a difference??
Well, for me, some of my prayers are clearly directed to Jesus and others more to God whcih sometimes means the Trinity and sometimes means the Father.

I don’t think it makes a “difference” in the sense that any choice is better than any other or more liekly to “work” or something. I was just wondering how others felt and how they prayed.

Normally, I address “Lord Jesus,” as He is the Divine Person to Whom I personally feel the closest. Of course, most of my more formal prayers close with something like “and lead me to Your Father, by the Power of the Holy Spirit, so that with You I may live forever” …at times, though I feel that I should call down the Spirit’s fire of Love and Grace…at other times, I pray for the Eternal Wisdom of the Father.

It really depends…I’ll pray to Whomever I feel inspired to pray. Of course, as others have said, I pray to God Almighty, the Trinity of Divinity, in all of my prayers.

I usually address my prayers to Jesus, but being a triune God, when you pray to one part of the trinity, you are praying to all three, also. At least this is what I’ve been taught.

You took the words out of my mouth. I mainly pray in Jesus’ name to the Father.
