Would you like me to post a St. Philomena Novena here for everyone?

Maybe they can go see a doctor after they get back from their father’s to get a medical statement that they are malnourished after being over there.
Yes, would you please post it. I would appreciate it. I agree about the doctor and will mention it to my sister.

Please post the Novena. I would like to participate.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

Why does this man even want visitation? Sounds like having the kids over is just a big nuisance for him and his wife.
Oh do I agree. When my sister called me last night and told me all what the children revealed to her, the next words were, “What is wrong with him? It is as if he doesn’t love them!”

I agree and the kids to him are a nuisance. I think the only reason he wants them at his house is because he knows that it doesn’t set well with my sister. If things were normal, she would not mind, but she knows that there is verbal and physical abuse and that is why she wants to stop visitation. You know what is scarely? My niece, Marissa, told her mom that one night all the adults at her dads were called into an upstairs room. Marissa being curious, went up after they were up there for a while. She over heard them all talk about Norma and how to get revenge. This scared Marissa. This scares us for their is mental illness in that family, some real crazy people. The wife’s sister told my niece that her sister, the stepmom, put poison in her mom’s coffees for years when she was still living at home to kill her mom. The mom had to be hospitalized and she went to prison. I don’t think occurred and it is in the mind of this sick woman. She said other things, I know are not true. I had a criminal background checked on this stepmom and it was clean. The other stuff she told my niece was also checked to be lies. Like I said, she is not well mentally. This would explain the stepmom for we always thought she had some mental illness that has not been treated.

Hi Nana3,

To put it mildly, it sounds like their father has some “control issues.” His behavior disgusts me and it makes my heart ache for the children. He needs our prayers. Something in his life must have contributed/helped lead to the angry man he has turned into.

I pray he will stop using his children as pawns for revenge. My heart breaks for your neice and nephew, but they are so lucky to have you and to have such a loving Mom. We are here, and we are praying! God will not abandon his children.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

Nana, I am still praying here and I am very excited and hopeful about praying our Novena all together. I trust in God’s timing, and I know that there is a right time for the resolution we are so desparately praying for.

Novena Prayer to St. Philomena (August 28 to September 5)

O faithful virgin and glorious martyr, Saint Philomena, who works so many miracles on behalf of the poor and sorrowing, have pity on me. Thou knowest the multitude and diversity of my needs. Behold me at thy feet, full of misery, but full of hope. I entreat thy charity, O great saint! Graciously hear me and obtain from God a favorable answer to the request which I now humbly lay before thee.

(Here specify your intentionFor Norma’s children to be protected from all evil influences and for their father’s visitation rights to be permanently revoked.)

I am firmly convinced that through thy merits, through the scorn, the sufferings, the death thou didst endure, united to the merits of the Passion and Death of Jesus, thy Spouse, I shall obtain what I ask of thee, and in the joy of my heart I will bless God, who is admirable in His saints. Amen.

Thank you so much. I even have two sisters who are not Catholic join us in prayer, but not the novena. Our family will also be offering a sacrifice, something we love and give up for those 9 days, or a fast. Norma is still depressed and without hope for the system has failed her so much and her children, but I am hopeful for her and her children.

Thank you Maria. Everyone here has been so great in getting me through all this and having the hope I need to encourage Norma when she wants to give up. She is now convinced from what Luis last told her that a Guardian ad litem is needed. My mom and her did not want to do it for they thought nothing would get done, but the GAL are the voices of the children in court.

Hi everyone, I know known of you, like me, want to hear of any more abuse, but Luis has talked some more today and drew a picture. You all are my support team.

He told one of his other aunts that he gets hit with both hands at the same time by both his dad and his wife at the same time. He also said they both use different things. In the picture he drew, he drew a belt, wooden spoon, book, and a spakula. He said his step mother, who legally is not to lay a hand on him, hits him mostly with the wooden spoon over and over. He described one day in that he was crying and would not stop. His dad was hitting him to shut him up and Luis said that his stepmother would be laughing and said, “Hit him more so that he will shut up.” Luis is very upset now and wants to bring his drawing to his psychologist. He asked his mother if he had to go back to his dads and she said yes, on his next weekend, which is August 24-26th. The dad will have them after school on the 24th and return them to school on the 27th. We are hoping that DCF will not allow it anymore.

The counselor did contact DCF already and we have emailed again the Governor’s office to see what they found on the investigation they said was being done on DCF, about three weeks ago, I think. We reviewed a call today from a congressman’s office that was also doing an investigation, but we missed the call. WE will have to call them back on Monday. I hope they have good news. I know that DCF takes time and have to get their lawyers involved before they decide to take children away from a parent. They did this with my other niece on my husband’s side, but they were in court.

Continuing to keep the situation in prayer especially with St. Therese…

Jesus we trust You
St. Therese pray for them
Thank you. I also ask St. Rita’s help. Please pray that the children will talk and not be afraid. The kids have a psychologist appointment for this Tuesday. Both of them say that they will not talk because their dad told them that if they talk to the counselor of what is going on over at their dad’s they will continue to get hit by them. My niece, Marissa, cried yesterday as she told us. This is the reason Luis did not speak at his last counseling appointment and says he will not speak this Tuesday. They are afraid, very afraid. My niece told me that on of the stepmom’s kids, who is also 10, is full of scars and bruises. She is too afraid to talk to a teacher or her dad because of what the mom has done to her in the past for talking.

Pray that they will not be afraid of talking. Fear is not of God.

Look what I found about my sister’s ex’s on his daycare. I found it on the craiglist of orlando.

orlando.craigslist.org/kid/393743476.html

The child mentioned who is 9, is my niece. Marissa admits being forced to watch the kids at the daycare and teach them. This is against the law, but they do it.

This is a dreadful situation, Nana, and I am keeping the situation and all in prayer with St. Therese, and indeed St. Rita who is also a patron of mine and one for desperate causes…so well placed in her care. And she was such an outstanding wife, mother and religious who suffered much…I am praying for your own continuing courage, inspiration and fortitude too…
I may not post every time but I read all your posts and stay in touch with this thread…

Blesssings, Nana, and my warm regards…Barb:)

Hi everyone,
I took the kids to their counseling appointment yesterday and got a chance to talk to the counselor. I can see what my sister means that she is “weak.” She told me that she called DCF about a week ago and has not heard from them.

I called DCF, myself today, and they have no calls from her to the case worker. I went ahead and gave the counselors name and number and asked them to please call her. I also called the counselor’s office and left the correct name and number and hope someone will call and they get to speak to one another. I have also spoken to my sister’s attorney and she does not want my sister or anyone in the family to make anymore DCF reports. Our hope is that the counselor will get a chance to talk to DCF and if they don’t, than we have to wait until Sept. 6th. My sister’s attorney said that in view of the threats and abuse to the children, she will try to get the GAL appointed on that date instead of waiting until October 1st.

The kids were picked up from school today by their dad and we hope they return fine. I know my niece told me yesterday in the car on the way to the counselor that she is tired of not being fed enough food while at their dads. I did tell the counselor that she lost 6 pounds in two weeks at their dads. That is too much for an already underweight girl. She said to me, “Aunt Nancy, I am so tired of all this. When will someone help us.”

Let’s pray that the counselor will talk to DCF soon. Hopefully before this weekend for the dad gets them again.

Heavenly Father, Please keep these children of yours safe while they are away from their mother. Amen.

Lord Jesus please keep these children safe when with their mother or their father… I pray that parents stop abusing children.

The kids are with this dad starting today until Monday morning. Let us pray for their safety while at their dad’s. I pray they don’t suffer from hunger pains anymore also.

Jesus, please keep these children safe while at their dad’s this weekend. St. Philomena, pray for them. St. Rita, pray for them.
