Hello, I was wondering if you all could help me. I do suffer from scrupulosity, so I may be making a bigger deal of things than I should.

I needed some space to pray, and I told someone something just to get them out of my hair. Later when I was thinking about what I said, I determined my response wasn’t true. (It was minor, nothing serious.) I was wondering whether I sinned.

Also, if I did sin, did God not hear my prayers? If you lie right before you sit down to pray, it seems like God won’t accept your prayers. But what do I know?
What do you all think?

So I guess I have two questions. Did I sin? and Does lying make your prayers unnacceptable to God?

Since you didn’t know you were telling a lie when you said it, you didn’t commit the sin of lying. If you sin before praying, that doesn’t mean God will not answer your prayers. Our prayers are worthless if they are said with willful distraction, not sinning prior to praying.
