I have a difficult situation, my manager at work has been cruel to me because I am mixed race, but when I report him he retaliates. HR says they will fire him if it continues, but there’s nothing they can do to protect me, and honestly all they have done so far is make things worse. I want to avoid conflict with him because he has the makings of a stalker. He has harassed my wife’s Dr’s office and terrified my grandmother. He enjoys talking about the macabre and reports having imaginary conversations.

Two weeks ago he created a paper trail so flagrant that even HR noticed without me saying anything. Last week he retaliated by making jokes about my children burning to death or drowning. Yesterday he stared at me, like he was picking a fight but much of the time he was oddly polite, addressing me like I was a dignitary.

I’m overwhelmed by the options, scared of the consequences, and I feel guilty that my course of action so far has been to hope that he picks a different victim. Please pray for the safety of my family.

I’ll but praying for you. In the mean time, might I suggest finding another job?

If someone has threatened or harassed you or your family, you should file a police report so that there is a record in case something actually happens.
 
Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.

Thank you for your prayers. I’ve talked to some experts and the consensus is that the guy is probably not an immediate threat to my kids at this moment.

@sparkythedog Incidentaly, I took my kids on an open house tour of the precinct nearest my work. They’re ethnically diverse and they focus on prevention I bet they’d be well suited to the sort of detective work you’re talking about.
