Feeling a very strong temptation that could affect the rest of my life. I’d rather not say what it is, but it’s important. Anyone have any prayers against temptation?

The Temptation of Jesus
1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[a]”
5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
" ‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,

Beloved Jesus Christ: my Lord, my King, my Savior, my God. You who are God, but also were man, who was tempted by the devil as any other human being, please give me the strength to reject sin and the grace to remain spotless as you are.
Reign in my heart with your Power, Wisdom, Love , Peace , Grace, Purity, Mercy, Glory and Joy.
You said to Satan:

How many times I have failed you my Lord, when I didn’t obey your commandments, I have rejected you my King when I allowed the enticements of this world to reign in my heart, I have forgotten you my God when my mind has been full of the things of the world.

How many times the riches of this world, the temptations of pride, greed , envy , jealousy and egoism have dethroned you my God from my heart.
I sincerely repent of this insult to your Majesty.
Jesus, give me the grace to be able to reject the things of this world, to detach myself from all that is around me, and to cling strongly to your spirit within me.
I love you with all my heart, with all my mind, with all my soul, with all my strength and with the spirit you have given me.

Gentle And Wonderful God…
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit…
Temptation is around me.
Satan is continually bombarding me and striking at me with temptation in an attempt to kill me and maim my soul.
I come to you this hour seeking your help.
In your name and by your power, I call upon you to protect me from the temptation Satan is putting in front of me.
I need your safety.
I need the safety of your protective arm.
When I am poor, I want riches.
When I am rich, I want more wealth.
When I am powerless in earthly ways, I want more earthly power.
When I am full of earthly power, I am greedy for more.
When I am with others, I am tempted to use them for my selfish gain.
I am tempted to put my life and my needs first rather than putting the life and needs of others first.
Before me there is the glamour and attractiveness of sinful desires.
Every hour I get closer and closer to the edge of this pit of sinful lusts.
Please help me step back and step away from this sin.
In your name and by your power, give me the power to see the truth about the glamour of sin.

If this is too personal to tell here, you might want to ask your priest for advice on this. In general, I will chose a job that has nothing against my belief. I know it is hard to find a job like that, but nothing is impossible to God if what you ask is to glorify the Lord.

“Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.”
^This prayer works for everything. When I am feeling tempted, I just add, “Lord Jesus, I am helpless without you, please come to my aid,” or “Mary pray for me, Jesus come to my aid.” Short, sweet, and to the point. It refocuses you on what’s really important.
