My intentions are not meant to be selfish as i know that there are others with many greater prayer requests. Nor am i looking for any pity, however, i was wondering if anyone could offer a prayer or moral support. I have just been struggling alot lately with my SSA. Yes, i know what the bible says and it barely scares me enough to not jump into the lifestyle, but everyone wants to feel love and be loved in all aspects of life. It is really hard (and it gets harder everyday) with the entire world (including many christians) screaming to accept yourself and do one thing while my religious teachings tell me to do another. Maybe i am still struggling with placing full trust in God and his words but some days, like today, it seems even more challenging.

thanks and God bless.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.

A Bible verse from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Afternoon reading (None) (Colossians 1:12-14) ©
We thank the Father who has made it possible for us to share in the saints’ inheritance of light. He has taken us out of the power of darkness and created a place for us in the kingdom of the Son that he loves. In him, we gain our freedom and the forgiveness of our sins.

I pray & hope…that the conversion of Saint Augustine will help you. His conversion is based on Romans 13: 13-14.
Some time in the year 386, Augustine, his mother Monica, his son Adeodatus, and several friends, were spending time in Cassiciacum, a small village near Milan. While outdoors, Augustine heard the voice of a child singing a song, the words of which were, “Pick it up and read it. Pick it up and read it.” He thought at first that the song was related to some kind of children’s game, but could not remember ever having heard such a song before.
Then, realizing that this song might be a command from God to open and read the Scriptures, he located a Bible, picked it up, opened it and read the first passage he saw. It was from the Letter of Paul to the Romans. Augustine read:
Not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual excess and lust, not in quarreling and jealousy. Rather***, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, ***and make no provision for the desires of the flesh. --Romans 13: 13-14
Reading this scripture, Augustine felt as if his heart were flooded with light. He turned totally from his life of sin. He was Baptized by Ambrose during the Easter Vigil April 24, 387. His friend Alypius and his son Adeodatus were Baptized at the same time.
Later, reflecting on this experience, Augustine wrote his famous prayer: You have made us for yourself, Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you. He went on to become a powerful influence on the spirituality and theology of the Christian Church.

In his autobiography [the first autobiography in human history],*** CONFESSIONS***, St.Augustine gives a lot of the "blow-by-blow"account of his struggles…and his deep, deep anxiety…in knowing what he should do…wanting to do it…but not doing what he wanted to do…and falling back into his sinful promiscuity. It is from this struggle in the flesh that we get the humorous rendition of one of his very honest prayers to the Lord:
"…dear Lord…I want to be good…but not right now…I am having too much fun…".
You too…must be excruciatingly honest in your prayers to the Lord about your true feelings and desires…and what you want Our Lord Jesus to do for you. He clearly knows your situation…but he will surely ask you:
Mark 10 (New King James Version)
**Mark 10: 46-52
**
Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus
46 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.
Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”
50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.
51 So** Jesus answered and said to him**, **“What do you want Me to do for you?” **
The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”
52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
In this context I recommend another chapter of Romans:…pray to the Holy Spirit…read and pray through Romans chapter 7…for a very thorough context…on Rom 7:19:
Romans 7 (New King James Version)
Law Cannot Save from Sin
19 For** the good that I will to do,** I do not do; but the evil **I will not **to do, …] that I practice.
caution: re: Rom 7; be careful not to use it as “rationale” to say…“its okay”…its not me but the sin in me which is responsible. Remember that it is always the “person” who acts…not a nature and not an inclination…and not a desire"…we as a person…act with our free will.

I also recommend that you seek spiritual advice from a regular confessor…adviser…and also go through Romans 13:13-14 and Romans 7:19 with him.

Lastly…and this is the most important thing I can offer for you to remember: Our Lord Jesus is with you…you are not alone…his body… The Church is with you…an those days you are successful and especially on days when you fail…His Love and Mercy endures forever. Thanks be to God…Mercy is not something…it is someone…Our Lord Jesus Christ…Who has truly Risen! Alleluia!

Lord, please help forhimonly in his struggles. May he feel your loving presence and know that he is loved and accepted by You. Help him to accept himself as Your loving child. Help him to place his trust entirely in you. Give him strength to persevere in what he knows to be right even though many around him encourage him to sin. And guard him from all serious sin.

Remember oh most gracious virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee oh Virgin of virgins, my mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

CORRECTION TO LAST POST:

Lord please help forhimonly with SSA issues. May he/she find love and respect from everybody, but may it only be wholesome love, love good for the soul and not illicit sexual relations from people of the same sex. Please help forhimonly stop any active gay lifestyle (if engaged in any) for the sake of his/her ultimate happiness and wellbeing. I pray that all the love forhimonly needs can be found in You above all and from family and friends in a platonic way. Forhimonly wants to be intimate with someone it seems, but because of forhimonly’s sexual orientation it makes only platonic love possible. Let forhimonly work within your rules of life so that in the end forhimonly will enjoy all the intimacy a person could desire in Heaven for all eternity. Yes, we all suffer one thing or another in this life, but let us all live the way you want for us, as you are our our loving Father and you know what is best and what is always best for us. Amen.

Gospel virtues

Our God, please fulfil my desire to be the person You want me to be. Claim me for Yourself so that Your love triumphs over my sinful habits and selfish responses.

As I keep faith with Your Creation by proper care of my human needs, I want to reject unchristian attitudes and activities. I want to attribute to each spiritual, mental, and physical gift and achievement, its rightful service, without pride, envy, or creation of artificial needs in myself or in others. Please help me.

Grant me a chaste heart that loves generously without subterfuge, sin, possessiveness or selfishness. Grant me to respect the goodness of Your Creation in others’ lives and mine, in chastity appropriate to my state and circumstance. Thus, my soul prepares for Your vision and already breathes Heaven’s life.

Let negative thoughts and imaginings never dominate even my darkest moments, for gloom demonstrates absence of faith and curtails Your expression of love in me. In place of self-doubt, please give me peaceful faith in Your will, so that I honestly accept my humanity, and trust You to win goodness out of failures and situations that appear hopeless.

In humility and obedience, I no longer have cause to be fearful or defensive. Pride and self-will evaporate before compassion for others. Doubt disappears before growing faith. Irritation and hasty judgement dissipate within generous patience and understanding. Loss and hurt quickly flow into acceptance of Your will and compassionate serving of others. Self-indulgence fades before reparation and appropriate self-discipline, to make me a channel of Your love to others.

I want to meet others joyfully, with unselfish love. I want to apply the kindliest interpretation to other’s intentions, regardless of appearance. I want to forgive gladly the instant offence occurs. I want You to bless those who offend me as bounteously as You bless those who benefit me. I want to face another’s negative behaviour with warmth and sympathetic kindness, and to fulfil another’s true needs cheerfully. Please help me.

Behold me as I am, our God, with all that I would withhold from You and conceal from myself. Take me, God, with my faults along with the good already received of You. Have mercy and forgive me for all offence and failure. Let Your love flood over my lukewarmness. Use me as I am, and with each moment’s service convert me anew that I grow increasingly centred in You.

Empty perspectives

Our God, we live in an age where many do not seek, knock and ask so cannot find, enter or receive—for we have little faith or none! So absorbed are we in worldly pursuits and values, that You see us starved or skeletal in proximity of living Bread and Water which dispels forever all hunger and thirst.

You see us seduced and intoxicated with illusory pleasures that fade as a single match flame before the everlasting Sun of heavenly joy. You see our faith—even at zenith—to be faint or dead, ensnared as we are in temporal attractions that strangle our souls at this entrance to the eternal realities.

You see us falter, and fallen in the very shadow of divine strength. You yearn to enfold us, to warm us to life, to enlighten our minds, to give us peace and love, but You respect our freedom of choice.

Our God please let us recognise ourselves as loved children of a great family passing through this life, and moving faithfully towards our eternal destiny of love in Your kingdom.

Abba let me not be wasted

My Father, please do not let me be wasted! I cling to you with eyes full of knowledge of my sinfulness raised pleadingly to Yours. I know that You cannot reject me, with love great as Yours. You gaze at me with tenderness as tears trickle from my heart.

Father, let me not be wasted. Throughout the ages, only now do I have opportunity for a lifetime of faith and love to benefit others and to seek eternal joy. You know I try to love and serve, but inadequately, and might despair except for Your love. Instead, I lean my cheek to Yours, knowing that You cannot turn me away, and that Your heart moves with irrepressible pity!

I am only a scrap of humanity crippled by sinfulness and doubt, who slipped past Your great and holy ones, into Your arms. Yet I am a person, redeemed, therefore, You may use me to serve the kingdom of Your love. You may use me to delight the deep recesses of Your heart!

I open to You all my sinfulness, along with any merit granted to me. Into Your mercy, I surrender all goodness, all iniquity of my life—for to withhold anything from You is ‘‘privacy’’ and ‘‘a possession’’ that could ruin Your life in me. Although I am tempted to lose heart before my sinfulness and lukewarmness facing Your resplendent holiness, I know that, despite frailty and difficulties, You can bring good beyond all human thought and ways.

Do not let me be wasted, Father. Little is possible to me, but all is to You. Two humble loaves, five paltry fish, can in divine hands break to feed a multitude! I do not doubt divine foolishness in love that gives a-billion fold for gift of the little that I am. Nothing in me or in my life justifies such extravagant hope. Yet Your eyes sparkle softly with delight and I am lost within their depths and found within Your all powerful, transforming, compassionate and unconditional love.

In response to human sin, Father, You mercifully give us Christ and Church, saints and martyrs, forgiveness and redemption, sacrament and grace, love, and everlasting life. Glimpsing the mystery of so vast divine compassion, I dare to ask for everything, for each holy soul…for each person who strives and suffers…for each poor soul, frail, misled, errant, or ordinary. I plead for each person who dares not presume to come so close to Your loving heart, even if his or her merit is far greater than is mine! For each soul, I ask of You the fullness of Your prayer for them, the full treasure of the name and nature that You intend for each, within time and eternity.

Speak in me, in us, beyond our limited, worldly thoughts, ways and dreams. I trust entirely to You, within my life that is Your own life and sacrament within me. Leave nothing to me—although I will try the best that I can manage. Please Yourself utter and answer all Your love’s hope and intent, with the powerful liberty of creativity, choice, action and love that You yearn to loose in Your children, if only we would cooperate with humility and trust!

In all things, I surrender to the fullness of Your purpose and prayer for me and for others whom You wish to bless through me. I do so especially in the Eucharist, the highest prayer of the whole Mystical Body throughout time, in its true function, actuality and effect. For I am Yours, and plead endlessly in my heart, that you do not allow waste of this little human vessel at Your breast, insignificant as it is except in You.

Thank You Father that I can hope in Your merciful love that embraces even the ‘least’ of persons. 1982

I ask the Lord to keep you faithful always to His love and His choice, His gospel truths, and the Sacraments, regardless of anyone or anything. God bless you, Trishie

I ask God to surround you with His love and light.
I ask our Mother to please pray for you
andangels and patron saints to please pray for you.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
