Prayers and thoughts for people in my thread

Hello, as you can see, I am not a Catholic, but I guess I can offer up prayers for some people I know. I have a sexual assault survivors thread on another forum, and I just wanted people to pray for them. This is open to anyone of any or no faith, just so people have my friends in their thoughts and all. It’s a rough time for all of us who went through it, so any well wishes and whatnot in our recovery would be appreciated. Thank you.

My deep compassion for all that you and others have and are going through.
No one should have to endure the injustice, fear, self-doubts and the mental and emotional wounds that sexual assault survivors endure.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, asking God to surround and to fill you each with healing and embracing love.
God of goodness and love, please help each person thus sinned against to find restoration, and to begin to flourish in their lives. Please lead them to wholeness, peace, and joy.
Please bring rescue and protection to anyone who is in danger of attack or abuse. Lead caring others to see their predicament and come to their rescue.

For our healing, help us to forgive

Eternal Father help us to recover where injury goes beyond ordinary forgiveness and our hearts are in some way crushed, and our lives changed and devalued. Help us to find a way to forgive when we cannot smile or encounter the offending person with warmth because they have destroyed something in us.

Father please help us to forgive when we cannot forgive…and we cannot forgive because they do not understand how badly they have hurt us, and do not seek in any real way to acknowledge or try to heal the hurt they imposed on us. And even when we tried to tell them from the bottom of our heart but they would not listen, please help us to forgive.

Father help us to forgive when those who hurt our lives do not even remember how badly they have wounded us, and go on with their lives without concern, while we remain still held in some kind of time capsule with the consequences of their unfeeling and uncaring and attack.

Father, help us to forgive when those who wounded us by ignoring our needs and requests, yet who desire us to ignore their offence, and expect us to respond to their hints or manipulations while they make no concessions or apologies.

Help us to forgive those who impose their own conditions and rules upon us, without respecting that our hurt is real and radical, while they make us feel that they only desire our capitulation without justice, apology, or generosity from them.

Father please free us, free me, in forgiveness that comes from Your Son, innocent, and murdered, but forgiving.

Today is the Feast Day of St. Josephine Bakhita. She can well understand the type of suffering of sexual assault survivors. St. Josephine Bakhita, pray for healing for all who suffer assault, violence, kidnapping, and cruelty.

St Josephine Bakhita (d. 1947)

Josephine Bakhita was born near Jebel Agilere in the Sud Darfur (Sudan). Kidnapped when still very young, she experienced the cruelty of slavery as she was sold several times in slave markets of Africa. Finally she was rescued by an Italian family and brought to Italy where she not only became a Christian but also felt the call to consecrate her life to God as a sister. She joined the Canossian Daughters of Charity and lived the rest of her life at Schio, a small village near Vicenza. She died on 8 February, 1947.
