Prayers desperately needed

Hi guys,

I used to battle a pornography addiction, and now it’s gotten worse, I don’t use that anymore. I have an addiction to sex and prostitutes. I can’t seem to stop, sometimes I read the Bible or pray and then the urge is gone, then another day comes and I don’t have the same resolve to pray or read the Bible and off I do. I really can’t keep living like this.

It doesn’t help that some of my friends do the same thing and I go with them sometimes. I’m at an end here, please pray for me.
 
Recommit yourself to conversion of your heart, mind and soul.

Write out a list of the exact instances when sexual desire enters your mind and commit yourself to stopping the thought so that it doesn’t become an action.

My goodness, prostitutes. You have a death wish my friend, and are being led by Evil . You are risking turning your healthy body into a diseased body. You know that you are a temple for the Holy Spirit who lives within you.

Dump your friends if they aren’t on a path to change. Your compulsive addiction is not different in kind to that of alcoholics or drug addicts.

Seek out and join committed abstinence groups for sexual addiction. They are available here on Catholic Answers and multiple places online.

Get right with God, everytime you fail. Let a priest know how difficult recovery is getting for you.

I’d suggest daily Mass, daily confession of mortal sins, and daily receiving of the Eucharist.

My prayers are with you. The Holy Spirit heals the willing.

Indeed. If you are too weak you must leave your friends until you get strong. Remember, your Guardian Angel is always watching you. And our God’s eyes are always upon you. Christ came to bring the sword, to divide. If these friends cause you to sin then they must be cut away. You will endure, have strength. God’s power far exceeds yours. My prayers are with you and they prayers of the saints as well. Jesus’ arms are wide open.

Loving God I ask You that this person will seek and obtain the help and the graces that are necessary, and the strength of will and balance to deal with these aspects of life in a wholesome, gospel and Sacramental manner.
